A kapok duvet from Cocoon can, due to its unique quality and the amount of kapok inside, be washed at 60 degrees and tumble dried. However, we recommend washing at lower temperatures, both to protect the product’s lifespan and the environment. Kapok contains a natural bitter substance that prevents bacteria, mold, and dust mites from surviving in the duvet. Therefore, it is not necessary to wash a kapok duvet as often as a traditional one. A kapok duvet feels different from the down or polyester duvet you might be sleeping with today. A kapok duvet is slightly firmer and drapes more heavily around you than feathers and down.
