By choosing a pram mattress with kapok filling, you get an absolutely fantastic mattress for your child's sleep when you are on the go. The mattress consists of a core of our organic kapok fibers, which are extremely breathable. The breathability helps ensure that your child sleeps well in the pram and does not wake up on a mattress that is wet with sweat. So if you have a child who often sweats in the pram, it might be the solution to look for more natural and breathable materials.
Kapok is an untreated natural fiber that we harvest from the tall kapok trees. The production of the kapok we use at Cocoon Company is in harmony with nature. The trees grow in the wild, where no pesticides or other chemicals are used. Kapok trees are very grateful as they can grow and bear fruit without requiring water or fertilizer.
At the same time, kapok is naturally allergy-friendly because dust mites and bacteria do not thrive in the bitter substance naturally present in the fiber. The kapok pram mattress is therefore good for you if you want to prevent allergies in your child.
The mattress filling is covered with an outer layer of organically certified cotton. All the materials used in our kapok mattresses are 100% organic and free from chemicals and harmful substances. We believe that all children deserve a chemical-free nap in their pram, without artificial materials that emit a lot of harmful fumes.
Here you get a pram mattress made from the purest organic natural latex. It is a 100% natural product from the innermost core to the outer cover. Our natural latex pram mattress differs from many other pram mattresses in synthetic foam products or memory foam by being completely free from harmful chemicals and additives. We only use the pure product.
When your child sleeps on natural latex, you get a naturally breathable pram mattress. We tap the pure rubber milk from organic rubber trees, then whip the milk into a frothy milk, which is baked into the natural rubber core we use in our pram mattresses. Around the natural latex, you will find a layer of organic merino wool, which gives the mattress a little extra firmness and even more temperature and sweat regulation for the sleeping child.
When buying a new pram mattress, it is of course a must that it fits the size of your pram. The mattress must not be too large, so it bulges under the child. Nor too small, as the child could roll into the gap between the mattress and the sides of the pram.
It is also important that the mattress in the pram is relatively firm. This prevents sudden infant death syndrome and ensures that the child lies ergonomically correctly.

If you have bought a used pram, it is a really good idea to buy a new mattress for it. The mattress has been shaped after the child who previously slept on it a bit like with shoes. Therefore, it will not be very comfortable for your child to inherit a mattress from another child.
The same applies if little sister is to inherit big brother's pram, which is excellent in the spirit of sustainability. But the mattress is not so good to pass on.
At the same time, there is also something hygienic about the child getting a new mattress to lie on if you buy the pram used. There may have been accidents, spit-up, and drool on the old mattress.

A pram mattress should ideally be about 4-5 cm thick and firm in the filling. If the mattress is too thin and soft, the child will be able to feel the bottom of the pram under the mattress. At the same time, it must not be too high, as the child will then be too far up to the edge of the pram.
