Description

Pram duvet with kapok, perfectly fitting into the carrycot or pram. The kapok duvet contains 100% untreated and organic kapok, which is incredibly breathable and fantastic for temperature regulation. Kapok is also naturally hypoallergenic, as dust mites do not thrive in the fiber. A pram duvet with kapok therefore provides the child with the best conditions for a comfortable and chemical-free nap in the pram.

This product is tested and approved according to EU safety requirements EN 16779-1

Here you will find Cocoons small pram duvet with kapok. The duvet measures 65x80 cm and is therefore slightly smaller than the child's normal baby duvet. The duvet thus fits better around the child when sleeping in the carrycot and pram.

The duvet is filled with 100% natural and organic kapok fibers and is covered with a strong GOTS certified organic cotton outer shell. No chemicals or synthetic materials have been used during either the cultivation or production of the duvet.

Why you should choose a Cocoon kapok pram duvet:

Heat-regulating and moisture-wicking
100% organic and chemical-free
Naturally hypoallergenic and free from dust mites
Vegan

Our kapok pram duvet is fantastically breathable and temperature-regulating for the child sleeping with it. Therefore, it can also be used as an all-year-round duvet. However, on cold and windy days, we always recommend checking your child to see if there is a need for a wool blanket over the duvet. Alternatively, our pram duvets are also available with wool, where you can also find a thicker winter duvet for the pram.

The natural kapok fibers consist of 80% hollow space and are therefore very airy and light. This makes the duvet really good at regulating the heat around your child when sleeping. At the same time, the fiber is water-repellent and will transport moisture and sweat away, so your child gets a more peaceful sleep in the pram.

When your child is born, the center in the brain that controls its body temperature is not yet fully developed. In other words, the child cannot regulate its body temperature on its own and needs help from the surroundings to maintain an even body temperature. And this is especially important when we, as here in Denmark, put our little ones to nap outside in the pram. Therefore, it is essential to choose a pram duvet for your newborn with this property. It provides peace of mind for you and the best nap for your child.

Our pram duvets with kapok filling are hypoallergenic because dust mites, mold, and bacteria do not thrive in the bitter substance naturally found in kapok fibers.

Washing & Maintenance

Kapok is a unique natural fibre with exceptional properties that deserve proper care.
Read our instructions and prolong the life of your kapok product!

To preserve the fibre structure and its properties as best as possible, we recommend only washing your kapok product if absolutely necessary. Your Cocoon kapok products have not been dyed or treated with chemicals, so there is no need to wash your new kapok product before use.

Kapok also contains a natural bitter substance, which makes the fibre, and therefore the products, naturally resistant to house dust mites and many bacteria. For this reason, it is rarely necessary to wash your kapok product unless a major accident has occurred in bed. For minor stains, we recommend spot cleaning only.

We recommend airing your kapok product from time to time to maintain a healthy and fresh sleeping environment.

WASHING:

If it becomes necessary to wash your Cocoon kapok product, it is important to follow these instructions carefully:

Wash the product alone at 40°C on a short cycle to protect the fibre. It is possible to wash at 60°C if strictly needed. Choose a short cycle, as prolonged exposure to water can damage the kapok fibres. Do not soak the product.
Do NOT use a washer-dryer combination machine, as they often do not spin the water out properly before the drying cycle begins.
Always select an extra spin cycle of at least 1400 RPM to remove as much water as possible.
Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach, such as the Cocoon soap bar.
Do not use fabric softener.
Once washed, dry the product immediately, as delays may damage the fibre or cause clumping.

How to dry your Cocoon kapok product:

Always dry the kapok product alone in the tumble dryer.
Kapok takes time to dry. We recommend using wool dryer balls, which help reduce drying time and gently separate the fibres to prevent clumping. Do not use tennis balls, as they can break the fine fibres.
Dry with warm air, and repeat the drying cycle if the kapok still feels moist. Continue drying until the product is completely dry inside. This is crucial to avoid damaging the kapok fibres and will help prolong the lifespan of your product.

As a natural fibre, kapok will naturally soften and lose volume over time as it is used. This is completely normal. The lifespan of your kapok product depends on external factors such as use, care, and wear.

If in doubt about how to wash or dry kapok, feel free to contact your local retailer or Cocoon Company’s customer service at:shop@cocooncompany.dk
