Give your child a great start in life with the world's first humane silk duvet, crafted from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk. A temperature-regulating and hypoallergenic all-year duvet exclusively developed by Cocoon Company.
Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet in size 70x100 cm is designed for parents who want the absolute best for their child in terms of comfort, health, and consideration. This unique duvet is made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk a silk harvested without harming the silkworm, representing a unique and more considerate way of thinking about silk. Cocoon Company was the first in the world to develop this humane production method.
The hollow and long structure of the silk fibers gives the duvet excellent temperature-regulating properties, ensuring the baby is neither too hot nor too cold all year round. It is also extremely breathable and wicks moisture away from the body, creating a dry and comfortable sleeping environment.
Silk is naturally resistant to dust mites, and they do not thrive in the environment created by the silk fiber. At the same time, silk is a very strong and long fiber that does not break and dust unlike down and synthetic materials. This makes the duvet an ideal choice for parents who want a cleaner and quieter sleeping environment for their child.
Despite its light and thin appearance, the duvet is a genuine all-year duvet that adapts to the child's body and temperature. It is particularly popular as a summer duvet and for use in the pram on warm days. In winter, it can also be used indoors if the home has a stable and average high temperature. In the pram on cold days, it is recommended that the child is well wrapped and here a wool duvet might be a better choice.
The duvet is particularly suitable for very young children, as it is thin, breathable, and relatively heavy in relation to its volume. This balance gives many babies a calm and secure sleep. (The duvet cannot be machine washed but must be hand washed or dry cleaned read more under "Washing and Maintenance"). Who is the silk duvet good for? Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet is suitable for infants and toddlers who need a light and breathable duvet that helps keep the body dry and the temperature stable. The duvet is especially good for children who are sensitive to dust and dust mites, as the silk fiber is naturally dust-repellent and creates an environment where dust mites do not thrive. Unlike down and synthetic materials, silk does not break and therefore dusts minimally. At the same time, the duvet is more breathable than any other type of filling, providing a constantly dry and comfortable sleep both day and night. The duvet functions as an all-year duvet, but its light and airy character makes it particularly popular in the summer months and as a pram duvet. It can certainly be used indoors in winter if the room temperature is stable and on the warm side. If used outdoors in the cold, the child should be well wrapped, or a thicker wool duvet might be considered for the cold months. Why choose our silk duvet? At Cocoon Company, we don't do things halfway. We have created the world's first humane silk duvet series and we are still the only ones doing it this way. Our duvets are made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk, where every cocoon is allowed to develop into a butterfly just as nature intended. Unlike conventional silk production, where millions of silkworms are boiled alive, we choose a different path. A path where ethics and consideration go hand in hand with comfort and quality. Our silk is not chemically treated or mixed with lower quality or synthetic fibers. It is not chlorine bleached, and our duvet covers are sewn from GOTS-certified organic cotton. Every single component is chosen with care. There are many silk duvets on the market but few dare to tell how their silk is produced. We dare, and we stand by it. For us, it's not just about luxury it's about responsibility. And when it comes to your baby, you need to trust that every choice is made with the heart. See the full range of our silk duvets.
Cocoon Company is a Danish, family-owned business with deep roots in the sleep and textile industry we are, in fact, a third-generation company. Since 2011 we have developed Cocoon Companys products with a clear purpose: to create natural, honest and uncompromising alternatives to traditional sleep products.
It all began with our own son and a search for a better sleep environment, and that personal experience has shaped everything we do ever since. We know materials make a difference not just for comfort and function, but for the body, health and the nature around us. That is why we select raw materials with great care and respect for their origin, whether they come from a plant or an animal.
We do not compromise. Every duvet, pillow and mattress is produced with a focus on breathability, temperature regulation and purity without chemicals, synthetic additives or unnecessary blended materials. While others opt for cheaper or synthetic fibers to reduce production costs, we remain committed to the natural and unadulterated.
Our standards for quality, raw materials and craftsmanship are well above industry norms, and we demand more than what certifications currently require. We have developed our own processes and solutions because simply doing what is approved is not enough. We do what is right.
As a Danish company, we are proud that our products are used in homes around the world today. But we are still the same people behind the brand with the same values, the same presence and the same goal: to create products that feel right. For the body. For the conscience. And for the future.
When you choose Cocoon Company, you dont just choose a product you choose a company that cares about every detail.
A Cocoon Peaceful Silk duvet is made from the finest untreated Mulberry Peace Silk, where the silk is harvested in the gentlest way possible, resulting in a truly unique silk quality. To preserve the natural silk fiber for many years, we do not recommend washing the duvet, not even when you first receive it.
With normal use, it is sufficient to air the duvet regularly in the shade and fresh air. Silk is naturally resistant to dust mites, which cannot thrive in a silk duvet.
If an accident happens and cleaning is unavoidable, we always recommend professional dry cleaning. This is the most gentle and safest method, minimizing the risk of damaging the delicate silk fibers.
If you still wish to attempt a gentle hand wash or spot cleaning at home, please follow these instructions carefully:
How to hand wash or spot clean your silk duvet properly • Always use lukewarm water at exactly 30°C. Neither colder nor warmer. Use the same temperature for both washing and rinsing, as silk fibers are sensitive to sudden temperature changes. • Use a mild, enzyme-free detergent suitable for silk or wool. • Gently wash by hand without pulling, twisting, or stretching the fibers or the duvet. • After rinsing, gently press out the water. Do not wring. Roll the duvet and carefully squeeze out the water. Repeat until excess water is removed. • Lay the duvet flat on an absorbent towel, preferably on a warm floor. Turn it regularly and replace the towels to ensure gentle and effective drying. When the duvet feels dry, you can drape it over a chair to remove the final moisture.
With proper care, a silk duvet can last for many years while retaining its comfort and function. If you have any questions, we are always here to help.
