A kapok cot bumper creates a safe and cozy sleeping environment for your child. The cut bumper is made by 100% vegan, organic and hypoallergenic materials. It measures 28x186 cm and fits a baby bed that measures 60x120 cm. If you want the cut bumper to cover all sides, then use 2 pieces. Please note that the crib bumper may vary in length and width, as it is a handmade product.
Cocoons kapok products are 100% free of harmful chemicals. The products are filled with 100% untreated kapok fiber with a cover made of 100% organic certified cotton.
Kapok contains 80% air which gives the nature fiber its incredibly breathable and heat-regulating properties.
Kapok contains a natural bitter substance that makes kapok resistance to bacteria and house dust mites.
It’s important to pay attention to how you care for and wash your kapok product to maintain its natural properties for as long as possible.
To preserve the quality of the bumper and the properties of the natural fiber, we recommend that you only wash your kapok bumper if absolutely necessary. Kapok is naturally resistant to dust mites, which means they cannot live in the fibers. Our kapok bumpers are not treated with any chemicals – neither the filling nor the fabric – and therefore we do not recommend washing your bumper before first use.
Please note that we do not recommend washing kapok products in a washer-dryer combo machine, as they are generally not suitable for natural materials.
If you need to wash your Cocoon kapok bumper, please follow these instructions:
We recommend washing the product alone and at 40°C to protect the kapok fiber, although it is possible to wash at 60°Cif strictly necessary.
Choose a short wash cycle, as it is harmful for kapok fibers to stay wet for too long. The product should never be soaked. It’s important that the chosen program includes high-speed spinning to remove as much water as possible before drying.
After washing, we recommend running an extra spin cycle at 1200 rpm to remove excess moisture. The more effectively the product is spun, the easier it will be to dry.
Use a mild detergent without enzymes or bleach, such as Cocoon’s soap nuts. Do not use fabric softener.
After washing, the product must be dried immediately. Here’s how to dry your Cocoon kapok bumper:
Dry your kapok product alone in a tumble dryer.
Be patient – kapok takes time to dry. We recommend using wool dryer balls, which help reduce drying time and gently separate the fibers to prevent clumping. Do not use tennis balls, as they may damage the kapok fibers.
Choose a 30-minute timed cycle at medium heat. Check the product after 30 minutes and assess the moisture level. Repeat the process until the product is just slightly damp. Then remove it from the dryer and allow it to air dry in a warm place until fully dry. Avoid overdrying in the tumble dryer, as this can reduce the lifespan of the kapok fiber.

If you’ve washed your bumper and notice natural color bleeding along the seams, it means the bumper stayed too wet for too long.
