Why choose a kapok pillow?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down pillow becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to flip the pillow during the night to get the cool side. This is because feathers and down are both fantastic at insulating. The good insulation provides a really nice feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much heat as possible. WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE OUR CORN PILLOW 50X60?

The cornfiber has a long and hollow fiber structure, similar to a wool fiber, which gives the cornfiber its unique temperature-regulating properties. The cornfiber is also water-repellent and ensures that excess heat and moisture are led through the pillow instead of being absorbed. The pillow will therefore remain dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Our cornfiber is the first man-made fiber made from a 100% recyclable resource. The cornfiber is made from lactic acid, which is extracted from the plant sugar in the corn plant's starch during its fermentation process. Therefore, the cornfiber contains only naturally biodegradable and recyclable raw materials, which can either be recycled or broken down into organic material.

The cornfiber is our green response to today's synthetic and oil-based plastic fibers, which cannot be naturally degraded and are not recycled enough, thus burdening the planet. The production of the cornfiber requires nearly 70% fewer fossil fuels in manufacturing than ordinary synthetic fibers, and is therefore considered the first greenhouse-neutral fiber ever created.

The filling is securely enclosed in an inner bag made of organic cotton jersey. The inner cotton bag is encased in a removable outer cover made of thick GOTS certified organic cotton. A practical zipper on the side of the outer cover allows you to remove the cover for washing. A zipper in the inner bag provides easy access to the filling, making it easy to adjust the filling to suit your preferred volume, firmness, and sleep preference.

The natural latex pillow is made exclusively with three natural and organic materials and is not treated with or added any chemicals, either during or after production. You can therefore feel safe knowing that your pillow does not emit any off-gassing substances or chemicals during your sleep.

The central ingredient in our natural latex pillow is the 100% organic natural latex. Natural latex is known for its soft and comfortable body support as well as superior breathability. 100% natural latex is also naturally resistant to bacteria, mold, mildew, dust mites, and other allergens, and is naturally hypoallergenic. However, natural latex is not just natural latex. Often, natural latex is mixed with synthetic latex or filling materials to create a cheaper mattress. Therefore, it has been incredibly important for us to create a natural latex that is certified organic. Our natural latex is therefore GOLS certified, which guarantees that the natural latex is free from artificial and harmful additives, and that the natural latex comes from organic latex plantations, where it has been cultivated without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. ORGANIC & UNTREATED NEW ZEALAND WOOL
The tiny natural latex pieces are then mixed with lovely organic and untreated wool from New Zealand.
