The PAPILIO mattress topper from COCOON is a natural latex mattress topper like no other. The mattress topper is carefully handmade from start to finish, using only the purest organic materials of the highest possible quality.

The core of the mattress topper consists of 100% GOLS certified organic natural latex with a layer of untreated organic New Zealand wool around it. The thick layer of merino wool not only makes the mattress topper incredibly breathable and temperature-regulating but also adds a touch of firmness, making it incredibly luxurious.

GOLS certified 100% natural latex

The central ingredient in the PAPILIO mattress topper is the 100% organic natural latex. Natural latex is known for its soft and comfortable body support as well as superior breathability. 100% natural latex is also naturally resistant to bacteria, mold, mildew, dust mites, and other allergens, and is naturally hypoallergenic. However, natural latex is not just natural latex. Often, natural latex is mixed with synthetic latex or fillers to create a cheaper mattress. Therefore, it has been incredibly important for us to create a natural latex that is certified organic. Our natural latex is therefore GOLS certified, which guarantees that the natural latex is free from artificial and harmful additives, and that the natural latex comes from organic latex plantations, where it has been cultivated without the use of artificial fertilizers or pesticides. Thus, you can be sure that the latex core is made of 100% natural rubber and does not contain synthetic latex, chemicals, or fillers.

Organic & UNTREATED New Zealand wool

The latex core is then wrapped in a layer of luxurious organic and untreated wool from New Zealand. The wool gives the mattress topper fantastic temperature-regulating properties, as the wool's air-filled fibers create natural insulation under the body. The lanolin in the wool simultaneously ensures that excess heat and moisture are carried through the fiber and away from the body. The natural occurrence of lanolin also makes the wool resistant to dust mites and contributes to the mattress topper's hypoallergenic properties. The organic wool is also naturally flame retardant, and the mattress topper therefore does not need to be added or treated with harmful flame retardants.

We are so happy and excited about our fitted sheet 120x200 cm, that we dare to claim it might be Denmark's best fitted sheet! Fortunately, we are not the only ones with this opinion, and we have therefore expanded our range several times with more sizes to meet your demand!

Our 120x200 sheet is made of a lovely and sturdy quality, woven from the softest 100% organic cotton fabric. Our sheet is produced and processed without the use of chemicals or synthetic fibers. Complete your child's organic sleeping environment with a Cocoon natural fiber duvet and natural fiber mattress.

We guarantee a 100% organic product that has not seen the shadow of synthetic fibers, pesticides, or chemicals! We find that many manufacturers use chemicals to produce a nice white cotton fabric. We do not. We want to be better than that. When you buy a Cocoon product, you are assured of a chemical-free product.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

The fitted sheet is durable and can be washed at 60 degrees. Since we have not used chemicals or synthetic fibers in the production of our sheet, we recommend that you use a gentle and chemical-free detergent for your sheet. This way, you ensure that your sheet remains organic. You can, for example, use our soapberries, which are a 100% natural detergent.

Additionally, the kapok fiber is also hydrophobic, meaning it is water-repellent. It does not absorb water and moisture like cotton and feather products do. Therefore, a kapok mattress topper for a double bed is the perfect choice for those who sweat and feel hot at night.

Organic coconut fiber with natural latex

One of the key ingredients in our PAPILIO baby mattress is the organic coconut fiber, which is used for the firmer part of the mattress core. The coconut fibers are extracted through coconut production, washed and softened, after which the fibers are tied together into rope, which transforms the fibers into small springs. The coconut fibers are then tied together with natural latex and formed into springy core components that provide a firm and supportive base in the mattress. Since the coconut fiber layer is composed of large fibers, the mattress core contains a lot of continuous air channels, which give the mattress an incredibly high level of breathability. The high breathability allows the child to get rid of the excess heat and moisture during sleep, which is often the problem, as it is difficult for a child to self-regulate its body temperature. The firm base and the high breathability make the coconut base perfect for the child's first months in this world, where sleep is such an important part of the child's life. The National Board of Health, doctors and sleep experts recommend a firm surface with high breathability for the child's first months, as the child's body is not fully developed and cannot turn itself away from suffocation hazards. It is therefore our recommendation that the side closest to the coconut layer is used in the first months of the child, until the child is able to turn himself.

The wool gives the mattress fantastic temperature-regulating properties, as the wool's air-filled fibers form a natural insulation under the child. At the same time, the lanolin in the wool ensures that the excess heat and moisture is carried through the fiber and away from the child. The natural occurrence of lanolin also makes the wool resistant to house dust mites and contributes to the mattress' hypoallergenic properties. The organic wool is also naturally flame retardant, and the mattress therefore does not need to be added or treated with harmful flame retardants.

GOTS certified organic and untreated cotton

The cover is quilted with an unbleached and undyed organic cotton material, so that both the child's sensitive skin and allergies are taken care of. The cover cannot be removed, but can easily be spot washed with a strongly wrung out cloth. If you therefore want to take extra good care of the mattress in the event of an accident, we recommend adding a breathable wet bed sheet.
