Kapok pram duvet 65x80

Cocoon Organic Kapok

DUV-065080

Here you will find Cocoons small pram duvet with kapok. The duvet measures 65x80 cm and is therefore slightly smaller than the child's normal baby duvet. The duvet thus fits better around the child when sleeping in the carrycot and pram.

The duvet is filled with 100% natural and organic kapok fibers and is covered with a strong GOTS certified organic cotton outer shell. No chemicals or synthetic materials have been used during either the cultivation or production of the duvet.

Why you should choose a Cocoon kapok pram duvet:

  • Heat-regulating and moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free
  • Naturally hypoallergenic and free from dust mites
  • Vegan

Our kapok pram duvet is fantastically breathable and temperature-regulating for the child sleeping with it. Therefore, it can also be used as an all-year-round duvet. However, on cold and windy days, we always recommend checking your child to see if there is a need for a wool blanket over the duvet. Alternatively, our pram duvets are also available with wool, where you can also find a thicker winter duvet for the pram.

See all pram duvets

The natural kapok fibers consist of 80% hollow space and are therefore very airy and light. This makes the duvet really good at regulating the heat around your child when sleeping. At the same time, the fiber is water-repellent and will transport moisture and sweat away, so your child gets a more peaceful sleep in the pram.

When your child is born, the center in the brain that controls its body temperature is not yet fully developed. In other words, the child cannot regulate its body temperature on its own and needs help from the surroundings to maintain an even body temperature. And this is especially important when we, as here in Denmark, put our little ones to nap outside in the pram. Therefore, it is essential to choose a pram duvet for your newborn with this property. It provides peace of mind for you and the best nap for your child.

Our pram duvets with kapok filling are hypoallergenic because dust mites, mold, and bacteria do not thrive in the bitter substance naturally found in kapok fibers.

How a kapok pram duvet feels

We fill extra kapok filling in our Cocoon duvets because we know from experience that the fibers settle a bit and become softer after some time of use. Therefore, your kapok pram duvet will feel a bit extra firm when you first receive it and will only achieve the perfect thickness and softness after some time of use.

We recommend that parents sleep with the duvet for some time before the child uses it. Both to soften the fibers, so the duvet becomes soft and supple. And so the duvet comes to smell comfortingly of mom and dad when the child is to lie with it.

With our kapok pram duvet, we wish to give your child the best conditions for a nap in the clean, fresh air without harmful chemicals from the sleeping environment.

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-065080

We believe it's important for children to have the best conditions for a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-year duvet that can help create the right environment for the child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the heat around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away from the body, ensuring the child has a temperate and dry night's sleep. This is especially important for infants, as small children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to small children becoming too warm and starting to sweat. Therefore, it's incredibly important that the baby duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool pram duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a shell of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool pram duvet special:

  • Heat-regulating & moisture-transporting
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Unique carding

Which thickness should I choose?

A good rule of thumb is:

  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the warmer half of the year, or only used indoors, then the light version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is also to be used in colder months, and you're generally looking for an all-year duvet, then the medium (standard) version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the cold months, and only used outdoors, then the heavy version is a good choice.

Why choose a wool duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both fantastic insulators. The good insulating ability provides a really nice feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much heat as possible. It's really nice until you've warmed the duvet and mattress to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many people perceive wool as just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. The truth is, wool possesses unmatched properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate heat, and when it gets too warm, the wool absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its own weight in water and moisture without feeling wet and still keeps your body dry and warm. It's also the lanolin content in merino wool that ensures your duvet doesn't smell of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it's only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there will be a big difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

Merino wool is distinguished by having slightly twisted fibers, making it perfect for carding into a fluffy soft 'cloud' of wool fibers. This makes the sleep products wonderfully soft and pliable, undoubtedly benefiting any sleep. To ensure the most breathable and temperature-regulating sleep product possible, we only use merino wool fibers over 8 cm. The longer fibers create a more airy and lighter fill. This makes the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly body-neutral in its temperature.

From the Spanish mountains to your home

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed and originally comes from Spain, but is now widespread worldwide. For our Cocoon merino wool products, only wool from Merino sheep that roam the mountains daily is used. These sheep produce longer wool due to the colder mountain air. Since we only use wool fibers over 8 cm, our wool duvets feel lighter and more airy, while also being more breathable and better at regulating heat.

When selecting our merino wool, it's crucial that the production of the merino wool is done with the animals' welfare in mind. We have a strict policy of only using wool from sheep that are free-range, sheared in a fair and proper manner, and not subjected to mulesing. Therefore, we exclusively use Spanish merino wool, where mulesing is not practiced.

Our Amazing Maize baby duvet is filled with our revolutionary corn fiber, which is both hypoallergenic and vegan. Our fiber duvet for babies is made from 100% recyclable resources and is also 100% naturally biodegradable. Our fiber duvet is covered with our 100% organic certified cotton, which is so tightly woven that dust mites cannot penetrate it. You can safely tuck your little one into our Amazing Maize baby duvet without fear of allergic reactions and with a clear conscience, because you have done something good not only for your baby but also for our nature.

Our revolutionary product series Amazing Maize is our vegan alternative to down duvets and pillows. The pillows and duvets are filled with 100% corn fiber and have a cover of 100% organic certified cotton. The corn fiber has a long and hollow fiber structure, similar to a wool fiber, which gives the corn fiber its unique temperature-regulating properties. The corn fiber is also water-repellent and ensures that excess heat and moisture are led through the duvet instead of being absorbed. The duvet will therefore remain dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Our corn fiber is the first man-made fiber made from a 100% recyclable resource. The corn fiber is made from lactic acid, which is extracted from the plant sugar in the corn plant's starch during its fermentation process. Therefore, the corn fiber contains only naturally biodegradable and recyclable raw materials, which can either be recycled or broken down into organic material. The corn fiber is our green response to today's synthetic and oil-based plastic fibers, which cannot be naturally degraded and are not recycled enough, thus burdening the planet. The production of corn fiber requires nearly 70% less fossil fuel than the production of ordinary synthetic fibers, and is therefore considered the first greenhouse-neutral fiber ever created.

Wool Baby Summer Duvet 70x100

Wool Baby Summer Duvet 70x100

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDS-070100

Summer is a wonderful season, but for both young and old, the warm summer nights can lead to restless sleep. Do you find that your child's all-year duvet is too warm? Then it will definitely be beneficial for you to replace your child's all-year duvet with a cool baby summer duvet.

Temperature-regulating

Merino wool is naturally breathable and is actually one of the most breathable materials available. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. In warm environments, wool feels up to twice as cool against the skin as synthetic materials. When the body gets warm, the wool dissipates the heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

Moisture-wicking

When the body gets warm, the merino wool dissipates the heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

100% Organic

We use neither chemicals nor synthetically manufactured materials to produce your baby summer duvet with merino wool. The baby summer duvet has a cover of 100% organically certified cotton. We use long wool fibers, which are carded to create a light and airy baby summer duvet. We use only 100% natural and untreated merino wool, which is beneficial for both the environment and you, as you get the best and most natural baby summer duvet.

Antibacterial

We use 100% natural and untreated merino wool in our baby summer duvet. This means that we have not washed out the natural lanolin content from the wool. The natural lanolin content helps create an antibacterial environment in the merino wool, which dust mites, bacteria, and fungi cannot live in.

Baby Summer Duvet with Down or Merino Wool?

Several studies show that both children and adults sleep better with merino wool, amazing right?! Research shows that newborns sleep more peacefully in merino wool and are less likely to wake up and cry during the night. But adults also benefit greatly from sleeping with merino wool. Merino wool has significantly better temperature-regulating properties than other materials like down, which is often used for summer duvets. When choosing a good summer duvet, it is important to choose a duvet that is more regulating rather than insulating. As previously described, merino wool is one of the most breathable fibers available and is fantastic at adapting to your child's body temperature. When you choose a summer duvet with merino wool instead of a traditional summer duvet with feathers or down, you will find that the summer duvet with merino wool is much better at adapting to your child's core temperature than the down duvet. This is because a down duvet is more insulating rather than regulating. When you get warm under the duvet, you will find that your down duvet becomes damp. A feather or down duvet quickly becomes damp when you sweat, as feathers and down absorb the moisture. You will not experience this with a summer duvet with merino wool. Merino wool can absorb 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling damp. If you ask us, merino wool is an underrated and overlooked filling in duvets - especially summer duvets. Still in doubt? Do not hesitate to contact customer service for further guidance.

Silk Duvet 70x100

Silk Duvet 70x100

Cocoon Peaceful Silk

SDU-070100

Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet in size 70x100 cm is designed for parents who want the absolute best for their child in terms of comfort, health, and consideration. This unique duvet is made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk a silk harvested without harming the silkworm, representing a unique and more considerate way of thinking about silk. Cocoon Company was the first in the world to develop this humane production method.

The hollow and long structure of the silk fibers gives the duvet excellent temperature-regulating properties, ensuring the baby is neither too hot nor too cold all year round. It is also extremely breathable and wicks moisture away from the body, creating a dry and comfortable sleeping environment.

Silk is naturally resistant to dust mites, and they do not thrive in the environment created by the silk fiber. At the same time, silk is a very strong and long fiber that does not break and dust unlike down and synthetic materials. This makes the duvet an ideal choice for parents who want a cleaner and quieter sleeping environment for their child.

Despite its light and thin appearance, the duvet is a genuine all-year duvet that adapts to the child's body and temperature. It is particularly popular as a summer duvet and for use in the pram on warm days. In winter, it can also be used indoors if the home has a stable and average high temperature. In the pram on cold days, it is recommended that the child is well wrapped and here a wool duvet might be a better choice.

The duvet is particularly suitable for very young children, as it is thin, breathable, and relatively heavy in relation to its volume. This balance gives many babies a calm and secure sleep.

(The duvet cannot be machine washed but must be hand washed or dry cleaned read more under "Washing and Maintenance").

Who is the silk duvet good for?

Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet is suitable for infants and toddlers who need a light and breathable duvet that helps keep the body dry and the temperature stable.

The duvet is especially good for children who are sensitive to dust and dust mites, as the silk fiber is naturally dust-repellent and creates an environment where dust mites do not thrive. Unlike down and synthetic materials, silk does not break and therefore dusts minimally. At the same time, the duvet is more breathable than any other type of filling, providing a constantly dry and comfortable sleep both day and night.

The duvet functions as an all-year duvet, but its light and airy character makes it particularly popular in the summer months and as a pram duvet. It can certainly be used indoors in winter if the room temperature is stable and on the warm side. If used outdoors in the cold, the child should be well wrapped, or a thicker wool duvet might be considered for the cold months.

Why choose our silk duvet?

At Cocoon Company, we don't do things halfway. We have created the world's first humane silk duvet series and we are still the only ones doing it this way. Our duvets are made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk, where every cocoon is allowed to develop into a butterfly just as nature intended.

Unlike conventional silk production, where millions of silkworms are boiled alive, we choose a different path. A path where ethics and consideration go hand in hand with comfort and quality.

Our silk is not chemically treated or mixed with lower quality or synthetic fibers. It is not chlorine bleached, and our duvet covers are sewn from GOTS-certified organic cotton. Every single component is chosen with care.

There are many silk duvets on the market but few dare to tell how their silk is produced. We dare, and we stand by it. For us, it's not just about luxury it's about responsibility. And when it comes to your baby, you need to trust that every choice is made with the heart.

The kapok baby duvet is hypoallergenic, as dust mites, mold, and bacteria do not thrive in the natural bitter substance found in kapok fibers.

How a kapok baby duvet feels

We fill our Cocoon duvets with extra kapok filling because we know from experience that the fibers settle a bit and become softer after some use. Therefore, your kapok baby duvet will feel a bit extra firm when you first receive it and will only achieve the perfect thickness and softness after some use.

Your child's small body cannot move the duvet around enough to soften the fibers. Therefore, we recommend that parents sleep with the duvet for some time before the child uses it. This is both to soften the fibers so the duvet becomes soft and supple, and also to make the duvet smell comfortingly of mom and dad when the child uses it.

With our kapok baby duvet, we aim to give your child the best conditions for a natural and comfortable night's sleep in chemical-free surroundings.

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-080100/L

We believe it's important for children to have the best conditions for achieving a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-season duvet that can help create the right environment for your child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the warmth around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away, ensuring a temperate and dry night's sleep for your child. This is especially important for infants, as young children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to overheating and sweating. Therefore, it's incredibly important that the baby duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool baby duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a shell of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool baby duvet special:

  • Temperature-regulating & moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Unique carding

Which thickness should I choose?

A good rule of thumb is:

  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the warmer half of the year, or only indoors, the light version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is also to be used in colder months, and you generally seek an all-season duvet, the medium (standard) version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the cold months, and only outdoors, the heavy version is a good choice.

Why choose a wool duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both excellent insulators. The good insulation provides a lovely feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much warmth as possible. It's really nice until the duvet and mattress have warmed up to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many people believe that wool is just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. However, the truth is that wool possesses unmatched properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate warmth, and when it gets too warm, the wool absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its own weight in water and moisture without feeling wet, keeping your body dry and warm. It's also the lanolin content in merino wool that ensures your duvet doesn't smell of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it's only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there will be a significant difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

The longer fibers create a lighter and airier fill, making the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly temperature-neutral.

From the Spanish mountains to your home

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed, originally from Spain, but now widespread worldwide. For our Cocoon merino wool products, we only use wool from Merino sheep that roam the mountains daily. These sheep produce longer wool due to the colder mountain air. Since we only use wool fibers over 8 cm, our wool duvets feel lighter and more airy, while also being more breathable and better at regulating temperature.

The duvet is made from 100% recyclable resources and is also 100% naturally biodegradable. Our fiber duvet is covered with our 100% organic certified cotton, which is so tightly woven that dust mites cannot penetrate it. You can safely tuck your little one into our Amazing Maize junior duvet without fear of allergic reactions and with a clear conscience, knowing you've done something good for your child and our environment.

The corn fiber is made from lactic acid, extracted from the plant sugar in the corn plant's starch during its fermentation process. The production of corn fiber requires nearly 70% less fossil fuel than conventional synthetic fibers, making it the first greenhouse-neutral fiber ever created.

Silk Duvet 100x135

Silk Duvet 100x135

Cocoon Peaceful Silk

SDU-100135

A silk duvet is suitable for those who want a hypoallergenic duvet with fantastic breathability and excellent temperature-regulating properties. The hollow structure of the silk fiber is what gives silk its unique absorption ability, allowing moisture to be easily transported through the fiber. This gives the duvet fantastic breathability and ensures a dry and comfortable sleeping environment throughout the night. Since dust mites and mold do not thrive in these environments, silk duvets are often recommended for allergy sufferers and asthmatics.

Silk duvets are a thinner duvet, as the silk fibers are incredibly thin and lie very close together in the carding. Many mistakenly believe that a silk duvet can only be used as a summer duvet. However, a silk duvet can be used all year round due to the fiber's hollow structure. The hollow structure allows the silk fiber to respond quickly to changing temperatures in the sleeping environment, creating a thermoregulating effect around the body. This means that regardless of whether you tend to feel cold or too warm, a silk duvet will always adapt to your body's needs.

The sad truth is that most of us either do not wish to understand or do not care about how conventional silk is produced. The result is that hundreds of millions, perhaps even billions of silkworms are killed each year before they can become silk moths. All because we as consumers demand products made with silk without thinking more about the consequences.

Wool Junior Summer Duvet 100x140

Wool Junior Summer Duvet 100x140

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDS-100140

Summer is a wonderful season, but for both young and old, the warm summer nights can lead to restless sleep. Do you find that your child's all-season duvet is too warm? Then it will definitely be beneficial for you to replace your child's all-season duvet with a cool junior summer duvet.

Temperature-regulating

Merino wool is naturally breathable and is actually one of the most breathable materials available. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. In warm environments, wool feels up to two times cooler against the skin than synthetic materials.

Moisture-wicking

When the body gets warm, the merino wool wicks away heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

100% Organic

We use neither chemicals nor synthetically manufactured materials to produce your junior summer duvet with merino wool. The junior summer duvet has a cover of 100% organically certified cotton. We use long wool fibers that are carded to create a light and airy baby summer duvet. We use only 100% natural and untreated merino wool, which is beneficial for the environment and also for you, as you get the best and most natural junior summer duvet.

Antibacterial

We use 100% natural and untreated merino wool in our junior summer duvet. This means that we have not washed out the natural lanolin content from the wool. The natural lanolin content helps create an antibacterial environment in the merino wool, where dust mites, bacteria, and fungi cannot survive.

Junior Summer Duvet with Down or Merino Wool?

Several studies show that both children and adults sleep better with merino wool, amazing right?! Research shows that newborns sleep more peacefully in merino wool and are less likely to wake up and cry during the night. But adults also greatly benefit from sleeping with merino wool.

A feather or down duvet quickly becomes damp when you sweat, as feathers and down absorb moisture.

Wool Junior Duvet 100x140

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-100140

We believe it is important for children to have the best conditions for achieving a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-year duvet that can help create the right environment for your child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the warmth around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away, ensuring a temperate and dry night's sleep for your child. This is especially important for infants, as young children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to overheating and sweating. Therefore, it is crucial that the junior duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool junior duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a shell of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool junior duvet special:

  • Temperature-regulating & moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite resistant
  • Unique carding

Why choose a wool duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both excellent insulators. The good insulating ability provides a really nice feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much heat as possible. It's really nice until you've warmed the duvet and mattress to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many people perceive wool as just a warm fiber, suitable only for winter. It is also the lanolin content in merino wool that prevents your duvet from smelling of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it is only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there is a significant difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

Merino wool is distinguished by having slightly twisted fibers, making it perfect for carding into a fluffy soft 'cloud' of wool fibers. This makes the sleep products wonderfully soft and pliable, undoubtedly benefiting any sleep. To ensure the most breathable and temperature-regulating sleep product possible, we only use merino wool fibers that are over 8 cm. The longer fibers create a lighter and more airy fill, making the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly temperature-neutral.

From the Spanish mountains to your home

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed, originally from Spain, but now widespread across the globe.

When selecting our merino wool, it is crucial that the production of the merino wool is conducted with animal welfare in mind. We have a strict policy of only using wool from sheep that are free-range, sheared in a fair and proper manner, and not subjected to mulesing. Therefore, we exclusively use Spanish merino wool, where mulesing is not practiced.

Silk Duvet 100x140

Cocoon Peaceful Silk

SDU-100140

A silk duvet is suitable for those who want a hypoallergenic duvet with fantastic breathability and excellent temperature-regulating properties. The hollow structure of the silk fiber is what gives silk its unique absorption ability, allowing moisture to be transported more easily through the fiber. This gives the duvet fantastic breathability and ensures a dry and comfortable sleeping environment throughout the night. Since dust mites and mold do not thrive in these environments, silk duvets are often recommended for allergy sufferers and asthmatics.

Silk duvets are thinner duvets, as the silk fibers are incredibly thin and lie very close together in the carding. Many mistakenly believe that a silk duvet can only be used as a summer duvet. However, a silk duvet can be used all year round, due to the fiber's hollow structure. The hollow structure allows the silk fiber to respond quickly to changing temperatures in the sleeping environment, creating a thermoregulating effect around the body. This means that whether you tend to feel cold or too warm, a silk duvet will always adapt to your body's needs.

The sad truth is that most of us either do not wish to understand or are indifferent to how conventional silk is produced. The result is that hundreds of millions, perhaps even billions of silkworms are killed each year before they can become silk moths. All because we as consumers demand products made with silk, without thinking more about the consequences.

Why choose a kapok summer duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both fantastic at insulating. The good insulation provides a lovely feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much warmth as possible. It's really nice until the duvet and mattress have warmed up to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short. A kapok duvet is fantastic at regulating heat around the body due to the lightness and structure of the kapok fiber, which allows heat and moisture to be transported away from the body. A kapok duvet is therefore especially suitable for those who tend to get too warm at night.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows on the kapok tree Cebia pentandra in the tropical rainforests of southern and central America, India, and the western part of Africa. You can partially compare kapok to cotton, but kapok differs by being much airier than cotton. The kapok fiber contains 80% air and is thus 8 times lighter than cotton, making it the world's lightest natural fiber. The high air content in the kapok fiber is what makes it incredibly temperature-regulating and breathable.

When you sleep with a kapok duvet, you will experience that the duvet adapts to your body temperature. A kapok duvet is therefore one of the best things to sleep with if you have problems with night sweats or simply find a regular down duvet too warm and insulating. A kapok duvet also stands out by being water-repellent. Kapok contains a natural layer of wax around each silky soft fiber. This means that the kapok duvet will not absorb the moisture and sweat that the body releases during the night. Instead, the moisture is transported away from the body through the fiber's many airy cavities. You will therefore find that a kapok duvet remains wonderfully dry throughout the night.

Our revolutionary product series Amazing Maize is our vegan alternative to down duvets and pillows. The pillows and duvets are filled with 100% cornfiber and have a cover of 100% organic certified cotton. The cornfiber has a long and hollow fiber structure, similar to a wool fiber, which gives the cornfiber its unique temperature-regulating properties. The cornfiber is also water-repellent and ensures that excess heat and moisture are directed through the duvet instead of being absorbed. Therefore, the duvet will remain dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Our cornfiber is the first man-made fiber made from a 100% recyclable resource. The cornfiber is made from lactic acid, extracted from the plant sugar in the corn plant's starch during its fermentation process. Therefore, the cornfiber contains only naturally biodegradable and recyclable raw materials, which can either be recycled or broken down into organic material. The cornfiber is our green response to today's synthetic and oil-based plastic fibers, which cannot be naturally degraded and are not recycled enough, thus burdening the planet. The production of cornfiber requires nearly 70% fewer fossil fuels than the production of ordinary synthetic fibers, and is therefore considered the first greenhouse-neutral fiber ever created.

Summer is a wonderful season, but for both young and old, the warm summer nights can lead to restless sleep. Do you find your all-season duvet too warm? Then it will definitely be beneficial for you to replace your all-season duvet with a cool summer duvet.

Temperature Regulating

Merino wool is naturally breathable and is actually one of the most breathable materials available. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. In warm environments, wool feels up to two times cooler against the skin than synthetic materials.

Moisture Wicking

When the body gets warm, the merino wool wicks away the heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% of its own weight in moisture without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

100% Organic

We use neither chemicals nor synthetically manufactured materials to produce your summer duvet with merino wool. The summer duvet has a casing of 100% organically certified cotton. We use long wool fibers, which are carded to create a light and airy summer duvet. We use only 100% natural and untreated merino wool, which is beneficial for the environment and for you, as you get the best and most natural summer duvet.

Antibacterial

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-140220

A good night's sleep is essential for our health, as most people know. Therefore, we believe it's important to give yourself the best conditions for achieving as comfortable and uninterrupted a night's sleep as possible. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-year duvet that can help create the right conditions for just that. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the warmth around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away from the body, ensuring you experience a temperate and dry night's sleep.

Our wool duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a casing of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool duvet special:

  • Temperature-regulating & moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Unique carding

Why choose a wool duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both excellent insulators. The good insulation provides a really nice feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much warmth as possible. It's really nice until you've warmed the duvet and mattress to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many have the perception that wool is also just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. The truth is, however, that wool possesses unparalleled properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate warmth, and when it gets too warm, the wool absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its own weight in water and moisture without feeling wet and continues to keep your body dry and warm. It is also the lanolin content in merino wool that ensures your duvet does not smell of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it is only in untreated wool that the lanolin is still retained, and therefore there will be a big difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

Merino wool is distinguished by having slightly twisted fibers, making the wool perfect for carding into a fluffy soft 'cloud' of wool fibers. This makes the sleep products wonderfully soft and pliable, undoubtedly benefiting any sleep. To ensure as breathable and temperature-regulating a sleep product as possible, we only use merino wool fibers that are over 8 cm. The longer fibers will create a more airy and lighter fill. This makes the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly body-neutral in its temperature.

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed and originally comes from Spain, but is now widespread throughout the world. For our Cocoon merino wool products, only wool from Merino sheep that roam the mountains daily is used. These sheep produce longer wool due to the colder air in the mountains. When selecting our merino wool, it is crucial that the production of the merino wool is done in the animals' best interest. We therefore have a strict policy of only using wool from sheep that are free-range, sheared in a fair and proper manner, and not subjected to mulesing. Therefore, we exclusively use Spanish merino wool, where mulesing is not practiced.

Silk Duvet 140x220

Silk Duvet 140x220

Cocoon Peaceful Silk

SDU-140220

A silk duvet is ideal for those who want a hypoallergenic duvet with fantastic breathability and excellent temperature-regulating properties. The hollow structure of the silk fiber is what gives silk its unique absorption ability, allowing moisture to be easily transported through the fiber. This gives the duvet fantastic breathability and ensures a dry and comfortable sleeping environment throughout the night. As dust mites and mold do not thrive in these environments, silk duvets are often recommended for allergy sufferers and asthmatics.

Silk duvets are thinner duvets, as the silk fibers are incredibly thin and lie very close together in the carding. Many mistakenly believe that a silk duvet can only be used as a summer duvet.

The sad truth is that most of us either do not wish to understand or are indifferent to how conventional silk is produced. The result is that hundreds of millions, perhaps even billions, of silkworms are killed each year before they can become silk moths. All because we, as consumers, demand products made with silk without considering the consequences.

The cornfiber is also water-repellent and ensures that excess heat and moisture are led through the duvet instead of being absorbed. The duvet will therefore remain dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Wool Summer Duvet 200x220

Wool Summer Duvet 200x220

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDS-200220

Summer is a wonderful season, but for both young and old, the warm summer nights can lead to restless sleep. Do you find your all-season duvet too warm? Then it will definitely be beneficial for you to replace your all-season duvet with a cool summer duvet.

Temperature Regulating

Merino wool is naturally breathable and is actually one of the most breathable materials available. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. In warm environments, wool feels up to twice as cool against the skin as synthetic materials.

Moisture Wicking

When the body gets warm, merino wool wicks away the heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

100% Organic

We use neither chemicals nor synthetically manufactured materials to produce your summer duvet with merino wool. The summer duvet has a casing of 100% organically certified cotton. We use long wool fibers that are carded to create a light and airy summer duvet. We use only 100% natural and untreated merino wool, which is beneficial for the environment and for you, as you get the best and most natural summer duvet.

Antibacterial

We use 100% natural and untreated merino wool in our summer duvet. This means we have not washed out the natural lanolin content from the wool. The natural lanolin content helps create an antibacterial environment in the merino wool, where dust mites, bacteria, and fungi cannot thrive.

Summer Duvet with Down or Merino Wool?

Several studies show that both children and adults sleep better with merino wool - amazing, right?! Research shows that newborns sleep more peacefully in merino wool and are less likely to wake and cry during the night. But adults also benefit greatly from sleeping with merino wool. Merino wool has significantly better temperature-regulating properties than other materials like down, which is often used for summer duvets. When choosing a good summer duvet, it is important to choose a duvet that is more regulating rather than insulating.

As previously mentioned, merino wool is one of the most breathable fibers available and is fantastic at adapting to your child's body temperature. When you choose a summer duvet with merino wool instead of a traditional summer duvet with feathers or down, you will find that the summer duvet with merino wool is far better at adapting to your child's core temperature than a down duvet. This is because a down duvet is more insulating rather than regulating. When you get warm under the duvet, you will find that your down duvet becomes damp. A feather or down duvet quickly becomes damp when you sweat, as feathers and down absorb moisture.

We have a wide range of duvets for the whole family

Since we all have different preferences, physiques, and sleep patterns, we have created a duvet for almost every need, so the whole family can find the perfect solution whether you are looking for a light summer duvet, a warm all-season duvet, or an extra-large double duvet to share.

Our range includes duvets in various materials and sizes, all designed with a focus on comfort, breathability, and the environment. In the following sections, you can read more about the different models and their unique features, so you are well-prepared to choose the type of duvet that best suits you and your family.

Kapok duvet

At Cocoon Company, you will find Europe's largest selection of organic and hypoallergenic kapok duvets for the whole family. Our kapok duvets are hand-filled with the finest kapok fibers, harvested from wild-growing kapok trees in the forests south of the Equator. A kapok duvet from Cocoon Company is 100% organic, vegan, and contains only natural materials.

Duvet in merino wool

Our unique wool duvets are produced with the finest untreated merino wool of the highest quality. What makes our wool duvets special is that we only use Spanish merino wool and take only the longest wool fibers from the sheep, resulting in a much softer, lighter, and more temperature-regulating wool for our duvets. You will therefore find that a wool duvet in merino wool feels incredibly comfortable to sleep with.

Amazing Maize duvet

Here you will find our revolutionary cornfiber duvets. The fiber duvet is a gentler fiber compared to most other man-made fibers and is 100% naturally biodegradable, made from the natural excess starch from corn production, which aligns with our vision to reduce resource waste to minimize our environmental footprint. Amazing Maize Duvets combine the best of both worlds: the fantastic feel and durability of a polymer fiber duvet and the environmental benefits of natural materials and its sustainable cycle.

Silk duvet

Cocoon Peaceful Silk is the world's first humane series of silk duvets and the only one of its kind. The silk duvets are unique as they are produced with 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk. A silk that is not produced using the traditional method where silk larvae are killed to extract the silk, but instead by allowing the larvae to complete their natural life cycle. A Cocoon Company silk duvet is suitable for those who want a temperature-regulating all-season duvet made from pure organic Mulberry Peace silk.

Pram duvet

We also have fine, small pram duvets with organic natural filling. A pram duvet is for those who want a duvet smaller than the regular baby duvet, so it can be easily tucked around your child when sleeping in the carrycot or pram. By choosing an organic pram duvet from Cocoon Company, your child can nap in the pure, fresh nature without worrying about harmful chemicals.

Baby duvet

At Cocoon Company, we strive to offer your baby the best sleep products on the market. All our baby duvets are therefore both chemical-free and hypoallergenic. No synthetic polyester fibers are added to the duvets, nor are chemicals used during production and processing. With us, you get a natural and pure product, whether you choose our baby duvet with kapok, merino wool, silk, or corn fiber.

Junior duvet

Has your child outgrown the baby duvet? Then it's time to switch to a junior duvet. A good night's sleep is crucial for our children's health, development, and well-being. It's at night that the day's impressions need to be processed, and the nervous system needs to calm down. Children have a higher sleep requirement than adults and typically need to sleep 11-12 hours a night. Therefore, it's important to choose a chemical-free and natural junior duvet for your child's sleeping environment.

Adult duvet

At Cocoon Company, we make chemical-free, natural adult duvets for the whole family in kapok, silk, merino wool, and corn fibers. All our adult duvets are breathable, chemical-free, temperature-regulating, and hypoallergenic. No matter which filling material you choose, it is filled in an outer layer of organic GOTS-certified cotton. No trees need to be felled, and no animals need to be killed to obtain our raw materials.

Double duvet

It's so nice to snuggle under a large and lovely double duvet. But do you know the feeling when it gets too warm when two people sleep under one duvet? If so, a double duvet with natural filling is the perfect choice for you. These are particularly distinguished by being breathable, temperature-regulating, and moisture-wicking. With one of our double duvets, you will experience a wonderful night's sleep that is neither too cold nor too warm.

Summer duvet

We also have a selection of airy summer duvets made from nature's own materials, providing you with a cool and well-tempered night's sleep during the warm months of the year. Our lovely summer duvets with wool and kapok consist of the same fantastic materials as our all-season duvets, just with less filling. This leaves a cool and light duvet for those who feel warm and sweat during summer nights.

Winter duvet

Indulge yourself with a chemical-free and luxurious organic winter duvet in merino wool. With its fantastic breathable and temperature-regulating properties, the wool duvet ensures you have a comfortable, dry, and temperate sleep. Due to our unique carding of the wool, the wool duvet feels incredibly soft, light, and airy, and does not resemble a typical heavy wool duvet. Our wool duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with an outer layer of organic cotton.

How do I choose among the duvets?

The unique aspect of Cocoon Company's duvets is that they are all produced with the focus on creating a duvet with high breathability, allowing moisture from the body to ventilate through the duvet. Additionally, we have focused on creating duvets with the best temperature-regulating properties, so the duvet can help the body regulate heat and cold according to its needs. The biggest difference in our five series of duvets lies mostly in the feel of the duvet.

However, we often find that subjective opinion can play a significant role in the choice of duvet. Once you get used to a certain type of duvet, it can be difficult to switch away. But that said, we also find that many are incredibly surprised by how much a duvet with high breathability and better temperature-regulating properties can impact their sleep and quality of life. Therefore, one should approach the duvets with an open mind and look more at the feel and features of the duvet than just the materials.

If you are unsure about the difference between two duvets and want to see them compared, you can click the "compare product" button on the product page. The duvet will then be saved at the top of the page, next to the search function. Here you can compare up to four products side-by-side.
