Washing the Mattress Protector Washing Cocoon's mattress protector is easy and straightforward. However, we recommend only washing your protector when necessary to protect the environment. The mattress protector is 100% Oeko-Tex certified, meaning it contains no harmful chemical residues that need to be washed away before use. We recommend washing the protector at 40 degrees, or a maximum of 60 degrees in case of accidents. Choose a wash program for heavy laundry, as the protector can become heavy when washed, and some washing machines may struggle to spin it. If the water hasn't been spun out during the first spin cycle, we recommend an extra spin. Note that the protector can shrink by up to 8-10%.
