Description

Super soft and natural mattress pad for Stokke Sleepi V2 crib filled with organic kapok and covered with organic cotton. Treat your child to a 100% organic and hypoallergenic kapok mattress pad. A kapok mattress pad is an indispensable addition to a baby mattress, as the mattress pad ensures that your child gets the best possible sleep. A kapok mattress pad not only protects the mattress from wear but also provides fantastic comfort for your child. A mattress pad is temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking, contributing to a dry and comfortable night's sleep for your child.

Organic and hypoallergenic sleeping environment

A Cocoon Kapok mattress pad for Stokke Sleepi V2 crib is the perfect addition to a Stokke Sleepi crib if you want a soft and temperature-regulating base. A kapok mattress pad is a soft and protective layer between the mattress and the child. The mattress pad can help your child achieve an enchanting sleep. The kapok mattress pad helps transport excess heat away from the child and ensures that your child will have an undisturbed, temperature-regulated, and dry sleep.

HYPOALLERGENIC
Kapok contains a natural bitter substance, which makes the fiber resistant to bacteria and dust mites.

VEGAN & ORGANIC
Kapok is a fiber collected from kapok trees, which grow wild in the tropical rainforests. Our kapok is untreated, with a cover of 100% organic certified cotton.

TEMPERATURE-REGULATING
Due to the fiber's fantastic breathability and moisture-wicking properties, you will achieve a wonderfully temperature-regulated and dry night's sleep.

GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP WITH A KAPOK MATTRESS PAD

A kapok mattress pad is a great addition to any mattress - whether you have a foam, latex, or kapok mattress. If you tend to get too warm at night, it might be an idea not only to change your duvet but also to use a kapok mattress pad on top of your existing mattress. Foam and latex mattresses are not very breathable or good at temperature regulation, and therefore they can contribute to you getting too warm at night. Therefore, it might be an idea to add a moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating base to your bed.

The mattress pad quickly reaches body temperature, but as soon as the mattress pad becomes warm, it remains body-neutral due to the fiber's airy structure. The airy structure of the kapok fiber is also the reason why the kapok mattress pad can wick moisture and regulate temperature. A kapok mattress pad can therefore ensure that you do not get too warm and remain dry throughout the night.

Due to kapok's airy structure, the fiber does not absorb moisture but instead transports moisture through its fibers. In this way, your mattress pad remains dry all night. Another advantage is that this property makes the kapok fiber resistant to, among other things, dust mites, as mites can only live in a humid environment.

Washing & Maintenance

Kapok is a unique natural fibre with exceptional properties that deserve proper care.
Read our instructions and prolong the life of your kapok product!

To preserve the fibre structure and its properties as best as possible, we recommend only washing your kapok product if absolutely necessary. Your Cocoon kapok products have not been dyed or treated with chemicals, so there is no need to wash your new kapok product before use.

Kapok also contains a natural bitter substance, which makes the fibre, and therefore the products, naturally resistant to house dust mites and many bacteria. For this reason, it is rarely necessary to wash your kapok product unless a major accident has occurred in bed. For minor stains, we recommend spot cleaning only.

We recommend airing your kapok product from time to time to maintain a healthy and fresh sleeping environment.

WASHING:

If it becomes necessary to wash your Cocoon kapok product, it is important to follow these instructions carefully:

Wash the product alone at 40°C on a short cycle to protect the fibre. It is possible to wash at 60°C if strictly needed. Choose a short cycle, as prolonged exposure to water can damage the kapok fibres. Do not soak the product.
Do NOT use a washer-dryer combination machine, as they often do not spin the water out properly before the drying cycle begins.
Always select an extra spin cycle of at least 1400 RPM to remove as much water as possible.
Use a gentle detergent without enzymes or bleach, such as the Cocoon soap bar.
Do not use fabric softener.
Once washed, dry the product immediately, as delays may damage the fibre or cause clumping.

How to dry your Cocoon kapok product:

Always dry the kapok product alone in the tumble dryer.
Kapok takes time to dry. We recommend using wool dryer balls, which help reduce drying time and gently separate the fibres to prevent clumping. Do not use tennis balls, as they can break the fine fibres.
Dry with warm air, and repeat the drying cycle if the kapok still feels moist. Continue drying until the product is completely dry inside. This is crucial to avoid damaging the kapok fibres and will help prolong the lifespan of your product.

As a natural fibre, kapok will naturally soften and lose volume over time as it is used. This is completely normal. The lifespan of your kapok product depends on external factors such as use, care, and wear.

If in doubt about how to wash or dry kapok, feel free to contact your local retailer or Cocoon Company’s customer service at:shop@cocooncompany.dk
