Cocoon Organic Kapok

DUV-070080

Here you get a Cocoon kapok baby duvet measuring 70x80 cm. The duvet is actually a Swedish size baby duvet and is slightly smaller than the Danish standard size baby duvet, which is 70x100 cm. Since the duvet is a bit smaller, the baby duvet is also ideal for use in, for example, a carrycot and pram.

See baby duvets in 70x100 cm

The duvet is filled with our 100% untreated and organic kapok, covered with a shell of GOTS certified organic cotton. No chemicals or synthetic materials have been used during either the cultivation or production of the baby duvet.

Why you should choose a Cocoon kapok baby duvet

  • Temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free
  • Naturally hypoallergenic and free from dust mites
  • Vegan

Our kapok baby duvet has fantastic breathable and temperature-regulating properties. The natural kapok fibers consist of 80% hollow space, making them very airy and light. This makes the duvet extremely good at regulating the heat around your child at night. At the same time, the fiber is water-repellent and will transport moisture and sweat away, ensuring your child gets a more restful sleep.

When your child is born, the center in the brain that controls our body temperature is not yet fully developed. In other words, the child cannot regulate its body temperature on its own and needs help from the surroundings to maintain an even body temperature. Therefore, it is essential to choose a duvet for your newborn with this property. It provides peace of mind for you and optimal rest for your child.

The kapok baby duvet is hypoallergenic, as dust mites, mold, and bacteria do not thrive in the natural bitter substance found in kapok fibers.

How a kapok baby duvet feels

We fill extra kapok filling in our Cocoon duvets because we know from experience that the fibers settle a bit and become softer after some time of use. Therefore, your kapok baby duvet will feel a bit extra firm when you first receive it and will only achieve the perfect thickness and softness after some time of use.

Your child's small body cannot move the duvet around enough to soften the fibers. Therefore, we recommend that parents sleep with the duvet for some time before the child uses it. Both to soften the fibers so the duvet becomes soft and supple, and also for the duvet to smell comfortingly of mom and dad when the child lies with it.

With our kapok baby duvet, we aim to provide your child with the best conditions for a natural and comfortable night's sleep in chemical-free surroundings.

Cocoon Amazing Maize

MDU-070081

Our Amazing Maize baby duvet is filled with our revolutionary corn fiber, which is both hypoallergenic and vegan. Our fiber duvet for babies is made from 100% recyclable resources and is also 100% naturally biodegradable. Our fiber duvet is covered with our 100% organic certified cotton, which is so tightly woven that dust mites cannot penetrate it. You can safely tuck your little one into our Amazing Maize baby duvet without fear of allergic reactions and with a clear conscience, because you have done something good not only for your baby but also for our nature.

Our revolutionary product series Amazing Maize is our vegan alternative to down duvets and pillows. The pillows and duvets are filled with 100% corn fiber and have a cover of 100% organic certified cotton. The corn fiber has a long and hollow fiber structure, similar to a wool fiber, which gives the corn fiber its unique temperature-regulating properties. The corn fiber is also water-repellent and ensures that excess heat and moisture are led through the duvet instead of being absorbed. The duvet will therefore remain dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Our corn fiber is the first man-made fiber made from a 100% recyclable resource. The corn fiber is made from lactic acid, which is extracted from the plant sugar in the corn plant's starch during its fermentation process. Therefore, the corn fiber contains only naturally biodegradable and recyclable raw materials, which can either be recycled or broken down into organic material. The corn fiber is our green response to today's synthetic and oil-based plastic fibers, which cannot be naturally degraded and are not recycled enough, thus burdening the planet. The production of corn fiber requires nearly 70% less fossil fuel than the production of ordinary synthetic fibers, and is therefore considered the first greenhouse-neutral fiber ever created.

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-070080/M

We believe it's important for children to have the best conditions for a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-year duvet that can help create the right environment for your child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the heat around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away, ensuring a temperate and dry night's sleep. This is especially important for infants, as young children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to overheating and sweating. Therefore, it's crucial that the baby duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool baby duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a certified organic cotton cover.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool baby duvet special:

  • Heat-regulating & moisture-transporting
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite free
  • Unique carding

Which thickness should I choose?

A good rule of thumb is:

  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the warmer half of the year, or only indoors, the light version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is also to be used in colder months, and you generally seek an all-year duvet, the medium (standard) version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the cold months, and only outdoors, the heavy version is a good choice.

Why choose a wool duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both excellent insulators. The good insulation provides a lovely feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much heat as possible. It's really nice until you've warmed the duvet and mattress to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many believe that wool is just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. However, the truth is that wool possesses unparalleled properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate heat, and when it gets too warm, it absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its weight in water and moisture without feeling wet, keeping your body dry and warm. It's also the lanolin content in merino wool that prevents your duvet from smelling of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it's only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there will be a significant difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

Merino wool is distinguished by its slightly twisted fibers, making it perfect for carding into a fluffy soft 'cloud' of wool fibers. This makes the sleep products wonderfully soft and pliable, undoubtedly benefiting any sleep. To ensure the most breathable and temperature-regulating sleep product possible, we only use merino wool fibers over 8 cm. The longer fibers create a lighter and airier fill, making the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly body-neutral in temperature.

From the Spanish mountains to your home

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed, originally from Spain, but now widespread worldwide. For our Cocoon merino wool products, we only use wool from Merino sheep that roam the mountains daily. These sheep produce longer wool due to the colder mountain air. Since we only use wool fibers over 8 cm, our wool duvets feel lighter and more airy, while also being more breathable and better at regulating heat.

When selecting our merino wool, it's crucial that the production of the merino wool is in the animals' best interest. We have a strict policy of only using wool from sheep that are free-range, sheared in a fair and proper manner, and not subjected to mulesing. Therefore, we exclusively use Spanish merino wool, where mulesing is not practiced.

Wool Baby Summer Duvet 70x100

Wool Baby Summer Duvet 70x100

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDS-070100

Summer is a wonderful season, but for both young and old, the warm summer nights can lead to restless sleep. Do you find that your child's all-year duvet is too warm? Then it will definitely be beneficial for you to replace your child's all-year duvet with a cool baby summer duvet.

Temperature-regulating

Merino wool is naturally breathable and is actually one of the most breathable materials available. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. In warm environments, wool feels up to twice as cool against the skin as synthetic materials. When the body gets warm, the wool dissipates the heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

Moisture-wicking

When the body gets warm, the merino wool dissipates the heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

100% Organic

We use neither chemicals nor synthetically manufactured materials to produce your baby summer duvet with merino wool. The baby summer duvet has a cover of 100% organically certified cotton. We use long wool fibers, which are carded to create a light and airy baby summer duvet. We use only 100% natural and untreated merino wool, which is beneficial for both the environment and you, as you get the best and most natural baby summer duvet.

Antibacterial

We use 100% natural and untreated merino wool in our baby summer duvet. This means that we have not washed out the natural lanolin content from the wool. The natural lanolin content helps create an antibacterial environment in the merino wool, which dust mites, bacteria, and fungi cannot live in.

Baby Summer Duvet with Down or Merino Wool?

Several studies show that both children and adults sleep better with merino wool, amazing right?! Research shows that newborns sleep more peacefully in merino wool and are less likely to wake up and cry during the night. But adults also benefit greatly from sleeping with merino wool. Merino wool has significantly better temperature-regulating properties than other materials like down, which is often used for summer duvets. When choosing a good summer duvet, it is important to choose a duvet that is more regulating rather than insulating. As previously described, merino wool is one of the most breathable fibers available and is fantastic at adapting to your child's body temperature. When you choose a summer duvet with merino wool instead of a traditional summer duvet with feathers or down, you will find that the summer duvet with merino wool is much better at adapting to your child's core temperature than the down duvet. This is because a down duvet is more insulating rather than regulating. When you get warm under the duvet, you will find that your down duvet becomes damp. A feather or down duvet quickly becomes damp when you sweat, as feathers and down absorb the moisture. You will not experience this with a summer duvet with merino wool. Merino wool can absorb 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling damp. If you ask us, merino wool is an underrated and overlooked filling in duvets - especially summer duvets. Still in doubt? Do not hesitate to contact customer service for further guidance.

Silk Duvet 70x100

Silk Duvet 70x100

Cocoon Peaceful Silk

SDU-070100

Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet in size 70x100 cm is designed for parents who want the absolute best for their child in terms of comfort, health, and consideration. This unique duvet is made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk a silk harvested without harming the silkworm, representing a unique and more considerate way of thinking about silk. Cocoon Company was the first in the world to develop this humane production method.

The hollow and long structure of the silk fibers gives the duvet excellent temperature-regulating properties, ensuring the baby is neither too hot nor too cold all year round. It is also extremely breathable and wicks moisture away from the body, creating a dry and comfortable sleeping environment.

Silk is naturally resistant to dust mites, and they do not thrive in the environment created by the silk fiber. At the same time, silk is a very strong and long fiber that does not break and dust unlike down and synthetic materials. This makes the duvet an ideal choice for parents who want a cleaner and quieter sleeping environment for their child.

Despite its light and thin appearance, the duvet is a genuine all-year duvet that adapts to the child's body and temperature. It is particularly popular as a summer duvet and for use in the pram on warm days. In winter, it can also be used indoors if the home has a stable and average high temperature. In the pram on cold days, it is recommended that the child is well wrapped and here a wool duvet might be a better choice.

The duvet is particularly suitable for very young children, as it is thin, breathable, and relatively heavy in relation to its volume. This balance gives many babies a calm and secure sleep.

(The duvet cannot be machine washed but must be hand washed or dry cleaned read more under "Washing and Maintenance").

Who is the silk duvet good for?

Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet is suitable for infants and toddlers who need a light and breathable duvet that helps keep the body dry and the temperature stable.

The duvet is especially good for children who are sensitive to dust and dust mites, as the silk fiber is naturally dust-repellent and creates an environment where dust mites do not thrive. Unlike down and synthetic materials, silk does not break and therefore dusts minimally. At the same time, the duvet is more breathable than any other type of filling, providing a constantly dry and comfortable sleep both day and night.

The duvet functions as an all-year duvet, but its light and airy character makes it particularly popular in the summer months and as a pram duvet. It can certainly be used indoors in winter if the room temperature is stable and on the warm side. If used outdoors in the cold, the child should be well wrapped, or a thicker wool duvet might be considered for the cold months.

Why choose our silk duvet?

At Cocoon Company, we don't do things halfway. We have created the world's first humane silk duvet series and we are still the only ones doing it this way. Our duvets are made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk, where every cocoon is allowed to develop into a butterfly just as nature intended.

Unlike conventional silk production, where millions of silkworms are boiled alive, we choose a different path. A path where ethics and consideration go hand in hand with comfort and quality.

Our silk is not chemically treated or mixed with lower quality or synthetic fibers. It is not chlorine bleached, and our duvet covers are sewn from GOTS-certified organic cotton. Every single component is chosen with care.

There are many silk duvets on the market but few dare to tell how their silk is produced. We dare, and we stand by it. For us, it's not just about luxury it's about responsibility. And when it comes to your baby, you need to trust that every choice is made with the heart.

It's really nice until the duvet and mattress have warmed up to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many believe that wool is just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. The truth is, wool possesses unmatched properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate heat, and when it gets too warm, it absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its own weight in water and moisture without feeling wet, ensuring your body stays dry and warm. It is also the lanolin content in merino wool that prevents your duvet from smelling of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it is only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there is a significant difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed, originally from Spain, but now widespread across the globe.

When selecting our merino wool, it is crucial that the production of the merino wool is conducted with animal welfare in mind. We have a strict policy of only using wool from sheep that are free-range, sheared in a fair and proper manner, and not subjected to mulesing. Therefore, we exclusively use Spanish merino wool, where mulesing is not practiced.

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-080100/H

We believe it's important for children to have the best conditions for achieving a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-year duvet that can help create the right environment for your child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the heat around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away, ensuring a temperate and dry night's sleep for your child. This is especially important for infants, as young children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to overheating and sweating. Therefore, it's crucial that the baby duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool baby duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a shell of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool baby duvet special:

  • Temperature-regulating & moisture-transporting
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Unique carding

Which thickness should I choose?

A good rule of thumb is:

  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the warmer half of the year, or only indoors, the light version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is also to be used in colder months, and you generally seek an all-year duvet, the medium (standard) version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the cold months, and only outdoors, the heavy version is a good choice.

Newborns spend most of their time in contact with a duvet, and a good night's sleep is essential for their development and health. Therefore, it's important to ensure that the baby duvet you choose for your child does not contain allergenic substances or harmful chemicals.

At Cocoon Company, we strive to offer your baby the best sleep products on the market. All our baby duvets are both chemical-free and hypoallergenic. No synthetic fibers are added to the duvets, nor are chemicals and pesticides used during production and processing. With us, you get a natural and pure product, whether you choose our kapok, merino wool, silk, or cornfiber duvet. We produce duvets we would like to sleep in ourselves and that we can tuck our children and grandchildren into with a clear conscience.

Which baby duvet should you choose?

At Cocoon Company, we have many years of experience advising parents on choosing the right duvet for their child. Many parents have a personal preference for what makes a good and comfortable duvet, based on their own sleeping experiences.

At Cocoon, we always advocate for choosing a baby duvet made from natural materials, produced with as little environmental impact as possible.

Therefore, we would like to challenge your decision or perhaps even shift your conviction about what the best duvet is. When choosing your child's next duvet, we encourage you to ask yourself these 5 questions:

1. Should the duvet be hypoallergenic?

2. Should the duvet be free from harmful chemicals?

3. Should the duvet be breathable?

4. Should the duvet be temperature-regulating to prevent sudden infant death syndrome?

5. Should the duvet be organic?

If you answer YES to just one of these questions, then a baby duvet from Cocoon in our pure, natural materials is definitely for you.

The time has come for all of us to make greener choices. By choosing from Cocoon's baby duvets, all bearing our green butterfly, you are assured of receiving a top-quality product, produced with care and with as little impact on the planet as possible.

Baby Duvets and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome

One of the most important things you can do to prevent sudden infant death syndrome, according to the Danish Health Authority, is to ensure your child does not get too warm. Therefore, it is crucial to choose a baby duvet that helps your child regulate their temperature. When we are born, the brain center responsible for regulating body temperature is not yet fully developed. While in the womb, the mother provided the right temperature for us. It is only when we come into the world that this center must develop. Children's temperature regulation is not fully functional until they are 3-4 years old, after which they can feel whether they are cold or sweating. Therefore, it is essential to offer the child the best external conditions to regulate heat as effectively as possible.

Sleep is and remains one of the most important factors for our children's health and well-being. With a baby duvet from Cocoon, you give your child the best conditions for a good and safe night's sleep.

What does loft in a baby duvet mean vs. regulation ability?

In down duvets, there is much talk about "loft" or, in other words, the duvet's insulation ability. The higher the loft, the more it insulates. However, at Cocoon Company, we prefer to talk about regulation ability, as it makes much more sense for our duvet to help us regulate heat so we remain dry from sweat throughout the night, rather than having a duvet that insulates heavily, preventing heat from escaping. This can, of course, be very nice if you are cold at night and cannot find rest. In such cases, we recommend one of our wool duvets or cornfiber duvets.

How many baby duvets should you have?

Our best advice, from parent to parent, is to acquire 2 duvets for your baby. The extra duvet becomes your best friend in everyday life with an infant in the house. The duvet often follows your child everywhere, whether you are at home or outside the house. Many parents choose to have one duvet primarily used at home in their own bed and an extra duvet that is taken out of the house. The extra duvet is used in the pram, taken to mother groups, baby rhythmics, and all other places where you have your baby with you.

If an accident occurs and your child's duvet needs washing, it's just super convenient to have an extra one on hand so that the night's sleep can continue as undisturbed as possible.

All new parents can probably agree that the value and amount of sleep suddenly take on a whole new meaning. Every bit counts

We also recommend looking at our pram duvets. They work really well as the extra duvet you invest in and that the child uses in the pram. A pram duvet is slightly smaller than the baby duvet and therefore doesn't take up as much space around the child in the narrower pram compartment. You can choose a pram duvet in both kapok and wool filling, so there is something for every preference and season.

How long do children sleep with a baby duvet?

The size of a baby duvet in Denmark is 70 x 100cm. The time you need the baby duvet is individual, as it depends on the child's length rather than age. But as a rule of thumb, your child will sleep with the baby duvet from about 0 - 2 years of age or until the child measures around 90cm in length. After that, you switch to a junior duvet measuring 100x140 cm.

Which duvet is best for a baby?

Most expectant parents want to choose an hypoallergenic and chemical-free duvet for their child. So when choosing the right duvet for your child, you should look at what it is made of. It's important that the duvet is made of breathable materials so the child doesn't get too warm. At Cocoon, we believe that there is a lot of care for both people and the environment when we prioritize natural and organic products for ourselves and our children.

Winter duvet for baby Optimal warmth and comfort

When winter's cold sets in, it's important to choose a duvet that can keep your child warm and comfortable all night. At Cocoon Company, we recommend our wool duvets as the best choice for winter use, as they can handle a wide range of temperatures. Wool duvets are ideal both indoors and outdoors, ensuring both breathability and temperature regulation. Wool is a fantastic material used for many clothing and home textiles precisely because of its ability to adapt to temperature and retain warmth.

Our cornfiber duvets are a great alternative, resembling a classic down duvet in warmth. This type of duvet is slightly warmer and provides excellent comfort during the cold months. Cornfiber duvets are also wonderfully soft and perfect for snuggling.

Kapok duvets are all-season duvets and work well in winter, especially for children who tend to be warm. When children sleep in prams, they are often well wrapped up, and kapok duvets are ideal for ensuring they don't overheat. Indoors, kapok duvets also work well, especially if the temperature is stable, helping to avoid overheating.

Silk duvets can be used indoors in winter if the temperature is stable and high, but they are a bit thinner compared to the others. In terms of textiles, silk duvets are still all-season duvets, but they are best suited for mild temperatures.

Allergy-friendly baby duvet

An hypoallergenic baby duvet is the perfect choice for parents who want to give their child the best start in life. At Cocoon Company, we emphasize producing duvets from natural and chemical-free materials that are gentle on your child and ensure a good sleep environment.

What makes a Cocoon Company baby duvet hypoallergenic?

All our duvets are hypoallergenic, as they are each good at preventing dust mite allergies:

  • Kapok: Contains a natural bitter substance that makes it impossible for dust mites to live in the material.
  • Wool: Naturally antibacterial thanks to the lanolin oil, which we retain in our wool duvets. We avoid chemical treatments and chlorine treatments, which are often used to remove the lanolin scent. Our wool may therefore smell a bit more like wool, but this is a guarantee that it is natural and organic.
  • Silk: Contains a protein that naturally repels dust mites and ensures an hypoallergenic sleep environment.
  • Cornfiber: Easy to wash at 60 degrees, effectively removing dust mites and other allergens.

At the same time, none of our materials contain harmful chemicals. This makes our duvets a safe choice for your child.

Baby duvet with kapok

A baby duvet with kapok is an excellent choice for those who want an hypoallergenic, vegan, and organic duvet for their child. Our baby duvets are filled with untreated kapok fibers, and the outer shell is made of GOTS certified cotton of truly sublime quality. A kapok duvet is thus 100% plant-based and is, without comparison, one of the most natural and pure duvets on the market. We often tell our customers that the green butterfly in our logo is the only quality mark needed on a kapok duvet. But beyond that, certificates and stamps are actually redundant, as kapok is the most natural, untreated material you can fill a duvet with that doesn't come from animals. No processing is done it is 100% pure nature.

The smart thing about using kapok in a baby duvet is that it is an incredibly breathable material. In fact, the fibers consist of about 70% air, making the duvet extremely temperature-regulating, constantly adapting to your child's body temperature and maintaining an even temperature under the duvet throughout the night. This ensures that your baby neither gets too hot nor too cold.

You can read much more about kapok as an exceptional material for filling duvets, pillows, and mattresses here.

Is a kapok baby duvet all-season?

A kapok duvet is a cool to warm duvet and can be used all year round. As mentioned, kapok fibers are good at temperature regulation. But if your child is cold and freezes a lot during the winter months, we would instead recommend one of our cornfiber or wool duvets.

How does a kapok baby duvet feel?

When choosing a duvet for our children, it is very individual what we feel is a comfortable duvet. The decision is often based on what we are used to sleeping with. When you choose a kapok duvet for your baby, it initially doesn't feel as flexible and soft as the down or fiber duvet you might sleep with yourself. A kapok duvet is firmer and feels a bit more like a thick quilt at first - but in the right way. Kapok duvets from Cocoon Company are filled with extra kapok filling compared to other kapok duvets because the filling settles and becomes softer after some use. By filling them extra from the start, we have ensured that your baby duvet remains comfortable and has a longer lifespan.

We recommend that you sleep with your child's duvet for some time before birth to help soften the duvet's fibers and make it extra comfortable before the baby arrives. Additionally, your child will find extra comfort in the duvet when it smells of mom and dad. So it's a win-win to snuggle with the baby duvet before birth and look forward to the new arrival who will soon sleep in the duvet.

How to wash a baby duvet with kapok?

A kapok baby duvet is very easy to wash and maintain. Due to the natural bitterness in the fibers, bacteria and dust mites cannot survive in the duvet. At the same time, the organic kapok duvets are some of the cleanest you can find on the market. There are no excess chemicals or dyes that need to be washed out first. Therefore, washing your kapok baby duvet is not necessary before use. Instead, hang the duvet out to air for a day.

If major accidents occur on the duvet and washing cannot be avoided, you can wash our kapok duvets at up to 60 degrees and then tumble dry them thoroughly. Try weighing the duvet before washing so you know if all the water has come out. If the duvet weighs too much after tumble drying, even when it feels dry on the outside, it needs more time.

We recommend that you, as far as possible, spot clean the duvet as needed and not wash the entire duvet if it can be avoided. Additionally, washing at 40 degrees is a more gentle choice, both for the duvet's lifespan and for the environment.

Always follow our general recommendations for washing and maintenance, which you can find here.

Baby duvets with wool

A baby duvet in our soft merino wool provides your child with a natural and soft duvet, with all the good properties you know from wool. Our wool duvets are uniquely made from the longest wool fibers from the sheep. After carding, the long fibers give us a softer and much more airy wool for our duvets.

A wool duvet is for all-year use, but Cocoon wool duvets for babies are available in 3 different thicknesses. This is because children are just as different as adults, and some children need a little extra warmth from outside to keep their body temperature even throughout the night. While other children sweat and need more air. Therefore, there is a "light, medium, and heavy" thickness baby duvet in wool. All wool duvets have the natural properties of wool and are breathable and temperature-regulating.

Baby duvets with silk

Our Mulberry Peace silk duvets are the world's first series of baby duvets in animal-friendly silk. Our silk is not produced in the traditional way, where silk larvae are killed to extract the silk. Mulberry silk, or in Danish mulberry silk, is the world's finest silk produced in harmony with nature, where the silk larvae are allowed to live on and eventually hatch into silk butterflies and reproduce.

Our baby duvets in silk are filled with pure, organic mulberry silk and have an outer shell of 100% organic GOTS-certified cotton. The silk is naturally breathable and has an incredibly airy structure. Dust mites and mold cannot survive in this environment, making a silk baby duvet highly suitable for children with allergies and asthma.

The silk fibers are very thin and fine. This leaves a soft and flexible baby duvet. A true luxury duvet of the finest quality, which can be used all year round for your child. A silk duvet feels thinner than other duvets and is often referred to as a summer duvet. But you can certainly use your silk baby duvet all year round. The hollow, airy structure of the silk fiber means that it constantly adapts to the surrounding temperature, creating a temperature-regulating effect around the child's body when sleeping. So whether the child tends to be cold or sweat at night, a silk duvet will always adapt to your child's needs.

Baby duvets with cornfiber

At Cocoon, we are proud to present you with a wide range of different baby duvets. We have an offer for every need and desire, but what they all have in common is that they are made from natural, environmentally friendly, and pure materials.

The same applies to our cornfiber duvets, which are filled with a man-made fiber made from 100% recyclable materials. The cornfiber is extracted from the plant sugar in corn starch and therefore contains only naturally degradable and recyclable raw materials. The cornfiber duvet is our response and natural alternative to the many synthetic and oil-based plastic fibers found in duvets today.

We know that the softness of a fiber duvet appeals to many when buying a new baby duvet. Therefore, we offer an alternative to the synthetic duvet and have created the same buttery soft feel of a duvet that wraps softly around the child with our cornfiber. The cornfiber is insulating and breathable, allowing the child to release heat and not sweat at night.
