The perfect choice for those who want a safe and chemical-free night's sleep for their baby. A baby mattress with kapok is particularly distinguished by being hypoallergenic, breathable, and temperature-regulating, ensuring your child has a lovely surface to sleep on. A kapok crib mattress is the natural choice for a perfect night's sleep, giving your child a good start in life completely free from harmful chemicals. The BabyBay mattress measures 45x89, but may vary slightly in size as the kapok mattresses are hand-stuffed.

Hypoallergenic

Kapok contains a natural bitter substance that makes the fiber resistant to bacteria and dust mites

Organic

Our kapok duvets and pillows are filled with untreated kapok, with a cover of 100% organic certified cotton.

Temperature-Regulating

Due to the fiber's fantastic breathability, you will achieve a wonderfully temperature-regulated night's sleep

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE KAPOK...

The kapok fiber is known for its temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties. When you sleep on a kapok mattress, your bed will neither become damp, cold, nor too warm. A kapok mattress is therefore especially suitable for infants. Newborns have difficulty regulating their temperature themselves. It is important for newborns that their temperature remains around 37 degrees, and that they do not become too cold or too warm. Therefore, a kapok baby mattress is the perfect choice for newborns. The fiber quickly reaches body temperature and helps the child regulate warmth. Another advantage of choosing a kapok mattress is that the kapok fiber is resistant to mites, such as dust mites. They like to live in a humid environment, but since the kapok fiber does not absorb moisture, dust mites cannot live in a kapok fiber. Furthermore, our kapok is 100% organic without the addition of chemicals, pesticides, etc. You can safely put your little one on our kapok mattress, knowing that your child is lying on a 100% hypoallergenic mattress.

MAINTENANCE OF YOUR KAPOK MATTRESS

As with all mattresses, it is a good idea to stand the mattress on its side occasionally to air it out. If you have a bed with a solid base, you should be particularly attentive to airing the mattress regularly. These bed bases make it harder to transport moisture away from the mattress. Kapok transports moisture and heat away from the child, but if the moisture cannot escape from the bottom of the mattress, it gets trapped between the mattress and the solid base. In the worst case, this can lead to mold spores forming under the mattress. Unfortunately, this can happen regardless of the mattress used. Therefore, air the mattress once a week or as needed.

Kapok Junior Duvet 100x140

Cocoon Organic Kapok

DUV-100140

Here you get a Cocoon kapok junior duvet measuring 100x140 cm. Your child has now outgrown the baby duvet and needs a larger duvet to snuggle with at night. The duvet is the Danish standard size junior duvet, which is also easy to find junior bedding for.

The duvet is filled with 100% untreated and organic kapok, covered with a casing of GOTS certified organic cotton. No chemicals or synthetic materials have been used during either the cultivation or production of the duvet.

Why choose a Cocoon kapok junior duvet

  • Temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free
  • Naturally hypoallergenic and free from dust mites
  • Vegan

Our kapok junior duvet has fantastic breathable and temperature-regulating properties. The natural kapok fibers consist of 80% hollow space and are therefore very airy and light. This makes the duvet extremely good at regulating the heat around your child at night. At the same time, the fiber is water-repellent and will transport moisture and sweat away, ensuring your child gets a more restful sleep.

The kapok junior duvet is hypoallergenic, as dust mites, mold, and bacteria do not thrive in the natural bitter substance found in kapok fibers.

How a kapok junior duvet feels

We fill extra kapok filling in our Cocoon duvets because we know from experience that the fibers settle a bit and become softer after some time of use. Therefore, your kapok junior duvet will feel a bit firm when you first receive it and will only achieve the perfect thickness and softness after some time of use. We recommend that parents sleep with the duvet for a while before giving it to the child. Both to soften the fibers and to make the duvet smell comfortingly of mom and dad.

With our junior duvets in kapok, we aim to give your child the best conditions for a natural and safe night's sleep in chemical-free surroundings.

WPJ-040060

Cocoon Merino Wool junior pillow is an exclusive wool pillow. Our wool junior pillow is made from the finest organic merino wool encased in silky soft and 100% organic cotton. The wool pillow is filled with a soft carding of untreated organic merino wool. The junior pillow therefore feels airy and delightful. Use it together with a wool duvet to complete your child's hypoallergenic sleeping environment. Our Cocoon Merino Wool series is developed and designed in Denmark and produced in Europe.

100% Organic
No chemicals, pesticides, or synthetic fibers are used in the production of our wool products.

Heat and Sweat Regulating
Merino wool is incredibly breathable and will ensure your child has a pleasantly tempered and dry sleep.

Hypoallergenic
Merino wool contains lanolin, which prevents dust mites and bacteria from living in the wool fiber.

ANIMAL WELFARE
We have chosen to produce our wool duvets from merino sheep that roam the mountains daily, as these sheep produce longer wool due to the colder climate. By choosing a longer wool fiber, our wool duvets feel more airy, while also being more breathable and better at regulating temperature. When choosing wool, it is not only important to us that the quality of the merino wool is top-notch, but also that the wool is produced with the animals' welfare in mind. We therefore have a strict policy of only using wool from merino sheep that are free-range, sheared in a proper and fair manner, and not subjected to mulesing.

Pram Mattress - Natural Latex

Pram Mattress - Natural Latex

Cocoon Papilio Mattresses

LWM-036096

The PAPILIO mattress from COCOON is a mattress like no other. The pram mattress is meticulously handmade from start to finish, using only the purest organic materials of the highest quality possible. The core of the pram mattress consists of 100% organic natural latex with a layer of untreated organic New Zealand wool around it.

  • 100% organic materials
  • 0% chemicals
  • 0% off-gassing VOCs, such as formaldehyde or dimethylformamide
  • Breathable and temperature regulating
  • Naturally resistant to dust mites

IT'S WHAT'S INSIDE THAT COUNTS...

The PAPILIO mattress is made exclusively with three natural and organic materials and is not treated with or infused with any chemicals, either during or after production. You can therefore rest assured knowing that the mattress does not emit any off-gassing substances or chemicals during your child's sleep.

GOLS CERTIFIED 100% NATURAL LATEX

The second key ingredient in the PAPILIO pram mattress is the 100% organic natural latex used for the softer part of the mattress core. Natural latex is known for its soft and comfortable body support as well as its superior breathability. 100% natural latex is also naturally resistant to bacteria, mold, mildew, dust mites, and other allergens, and is naturally hypoallergenic. However, natural latex is not just natural latex. It is often mixed with synthetic latex or fillers to create a cheaper mattress.

Therefore, it has been incredibly important for us to create a natural latex that is certified organic. Our natural latex is GOLS certified, which guarantees that the natural latex is free from artificial and harmful additives, and that the natural latex comes from organic latex plantations where it has been cultivated without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. Thus, you can be sure that the latex core is made of 100% natural rubber and does not contain synthetic latex, chemicals, or fillers.

ORGANIC & UNTREATED NEW ZEALAND WOOL

The cover around the mattress core is quilted with a layer of luxurious organic and untreated wool from New Zealand. The wool gives the mattress fantastic temperature-regulating properties, as the wool's air-filled fibers create natural insulation under the child. The lanolin in the wool also helps to carry excess heat and moisture through the fiber and away from the child. The natural occurrence of lanolin also makes the wool resistant to dust mites and contributes to the mattress's hypoallergenic properties. The organic wool is also naturally flame retardant, so the mattress does not need to be added or treated with harmful flame retardants.

GOTS CERTIFIED ORGANIC AND UNTREATED COTTON

The cover is quilted with an unbleached and undyed organic cotton fabric, protecting the child's sensitive skin and allergies. The cover cannot be removed but can be easily spot cleaned with a well-wrung cloth. Therefore, if you want to take extra care of the mattress in case of accidents, we recommend adding a breathable mattress protector.

TEMPERATURE-REGULATING

Due to the fiber's fantastic breathability and moisture-wicking properties, you will achieve a wonderfully temperature-regulated and dry night's sleep.

GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP WITH A KAPOK MATTRESS PAD

A kapok mattress pad is a great addition to any mattress - whether you have a foam, latex, or kapok mattress. If you tend to get too warm at night, it might be an idea not only to change your duvet but also to use a kapok mattress pad on top of your existing mattress. Foam and latex mattresses are not very breathable or good at temperature regulation, and therefore they can contribute to you getting too warm at night. Therefore, it might be an idea to add a moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating layer to your bed.

The mattress pad quickly reaches body temperature, but as soon as the mattress pad becomes warm, it remains body-neutral due to the fiber's airy structure. The airy structure of the kapok fiber is also the reason why the kapok mattress pad can wick moisture and regulate temperature. A kapok mattress pad can therefore ensure that you do not get too warm and stay dry throughout the night.

Due to kapok's airy structure, the fiber does not absorb moisture but instead transports moisture through its fibers. This way, your mattress pad stays dry all night. Another advantage is that this property makes the kapok fiber resistant to, among other things, dust mites, as mites can only live in a humid environment.

Cocoon Home

DCO-140200

You might already know the "muslin" fabric from ultra-soft cloth diapers. A 3-layer gauze builds on the same principle but is developed specifically for luxurious bedding. The fabric consists of three thin layers of finely woven cotton, sewn together with small, invisible stitches. This construction is completely unique: The three layers create small air pockets between them, giving the fabric a fantastic, slightly "fluffy" structure that feels softer against the skin than any other cotton you have tried.

The small air pockets between the layers act as a natural temperature regulator, retaining your body heat when it is cool, but cooling when it gets too warm. At the same time, the loose weave ensures that the fabric is extremely breathable. No more waking up bathed in sweat or shivering from cold.

The slightly crinkled structure provides a gentle sensation that soothes the senses and makes the body relax faster. The natural, slightly "waffled" look also means that the bedding does not need ironing. It is supposed to look like that! It gives your bedroom a relaxed, modern, and inviting expression. If you desire a completely smooth look, the bedding can also be ironed.

We recommend

  • We recommend washing the bedding at 40 degrees to protect the environment and the bedding's unique weave. If necessary, the bedding can also be washed at 60 degrees.
  • That you wash your bedding with a gentle and conscious detergent, and without fabric softener, to take good care of both the environment and the fabric.
  • The bedding can NOT go in the tumble dryer but must be air-dried.
  • For a smoother appearance, you can iron your bedding.
  • Due to the unique weave, the bedding only becomes softer the more you use it.

Breathable Mattress Protector 180x200

Breathable Mattress Protector 180x200

Cocoon Home

BWP-180200

What is a mattress protector?
Both adults and children can have accidents in bed, and here the mattress protector is a good discreet solution. Cocoon's mattress protector is placed on top of the mattress and under the regular bed sheet to provide the best comfort for the child. Mattress protectors for larger mattresses are secured with elastics around the corners of the mattress. This way, the protector stays well in place throughout the night. Mattress protectors for smaller mattresses, where the child does not move much, such as in a crib, pram, and carrycot, are without elastics.

The challenge with regular mattress protectors is that the body cannot breathe through the waterproof layer. Many therefore find it not very comfortable to sleep on a mattress protector. In the development of Cocoon's mattress protector, it was crucial that the layer should be breathable and comfortable to lie on. This has been achieved by coating our unique breathable membrane with the finest fabric of 100% untreated cotton flannel. The unique membrane prevents liquid from penetrating to the mattress while allowing the body to breathe through the protector.

Washing the mattress protector
It is easy and simple to wash Cocoon's mattress protector. However, we recommend that you only wash your protector if necessary, to protect the environment. The mattress protector is 100% OEKO-TEX certified, which means that the protector does not contain residues of harmful chemicals that need to be washed away before use.

We recommend washing the protector at 40 degrees, or a maximum of 60 degrees in case of accidents. Preferably choose a wash program for heavy laundry, as the protector can become heavy when washed, and therefore some washing machines may have difficulty spinning the protector. If it has not been possible to spin out the water during the first spin cycle, we recommend an extra spin. Note that the protector can shrink by up to 8-10%.

The mattress protector should be air-dried and must not be tumble dried.

Cocoon Organic Kapok

PLA-080080

A good night's sleep is essential for our health, as most people know. Therefore, we believe it's important to give yourself the best conditions for achieving a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A kapok pillow will be perfect for you if you want a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating pillow. Our kapok pillow is filled with 100% untreated and organic kapok and covered with a casing of certified organic cotton. No chemicals or synthetic materials are used during the cultivation or production of our kapok pillow. What makes our Cocoon kapok pillow special:

  • Temperature-regulating & moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Vegan alternative

Why choose a kapok pillow?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down pillow becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to flip the pillow during the night to get the cool side. This is because feathers and down are both fantastic at insulating. The good insulating ability provides a really nice feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much warmth as possible. It's really nice until you've warmed the pillow and the duvet to body temperature. After this, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. Unfortunately, this is where feathers and down often fall short. A kapok pillow is fantastic at regulating heat due to the lightness and structure of the kapok fiber, which allows heat and moisture to be transported away from the body. A kapok pillow is therefore especially suitable for you if you tend to feel too warm at night.

Kapok is a natural fiber that grows on the kapok tree Cebia pentandra in the tropical rainforests of southern and central America, India, and the western part of Africa. You can partially compare kapok to cotton, but kapok differs by being much airier than cotton. The kapok fiber contains 80% air and is thus 8 times lighter than cotton, making it the world's lightest natural fiber. The high air content in the kapok fiber is what makes it incredibly temperature-regulating and breathable.

When you sleep with a kapok pillow, you will experience that the pillow adapts to your body temperature. A kapok pillow is therefore one of the best things to sleep with if you have problems with night sweats or simply find a regular down pillow too warm and insulating. A kapok pillow also stands out by being water-repellent. The kapok fiber contains a natural layer of wax around each silky-soft fiber. This means that the kapok pillow will not absorb the moisture and sweat that the body emits during the night. Instead, the moisture is transported away from the body through the fiber's many airy cavities. You will therefore find that a kapok pillow remains wonderfully dry throughout the night.

Amazing Maize Baby Nest - Croissant

Cocoon Amazing Maize

MBN-130214-CR

Here you get our fantastic baby nest with soft corn fiber filling in both the edges and the mattress of the baby nest. We are proud of our cornfiber, which is made from the by-product of corn production. We process the raw material into a light fiber that feels and is as soft as the fiber products you know as polyester filling. But our corn filling has a much cleaner conscience than synthetically produced plastic fibers, which polyester actually is. In the production of corn fibers, far less CO2 is emitted, and the climate footprint is significantly smaller. Additionally, the material is 100% biodegradable and recyclable.

We always strive to do our best when designing new products for our range. And our baby nest is no exception. It was important for us to create a baby nest that is safe and secure for your child to sleep in. Therefore, our baby nest meets all the recommendations in the field.

The mattress of the baby nest is quilted in small squares to create the best possible comfort for your child and to insulate against cold from below. You can therefore comfortably use our corn baby nest for your child when playing on the floor or when your child is exploring the exciting things under a play gym.

The great advantage of choosing a baby nest for your child is that it becomes the child's safe base for small naps during the day. It becomes a cozy nest you can take with you for your child, no matter where you are. You can be close to your child in all daily activities, yet have your hands free.

Our Amazing Maize baby nest is softer in filling than our kapok baby nest and is therefore better suited for folding and taking on the go.

We recommend purchasing a cover for the baby nest to protect it from dirt and accidents.

NOTE:

Can be used from: 0-8 months.

Please ensure that the child is always supervised when lying in the baby nest.

Our slatted bases are Danish-made and crafted from curved birch veneer slats, designed to flex under pressure. Unlike flat slatted bases, the curved slats have a natural resilience that actively works with the mattress.

The curved construction allows the mattress to respond more dynamically to the body's movements and weight distribution. This means better support for shoulders, back, and hips, as well as a more balanced lying comfort. At the same time, the flexibility of the slatted base adds extra "bounce" to the bed, enhancing the overall sleep environment and reducing the feeling of a hard or dead surface.

The firmer the mattress, the more important it is that the foundation can give. A good slatted base acts as an active layer between bed and mattress, ensuring the mattress's properties are utilized correctly. Therefore, our slatted bases are particularly suitable for firm foam, latex, and natural mattresses, where flexibility from below is crucial for comfort.

Technical specifications and assembly

The slatted bases are delivered in full width up to mattress sizes of 100x200 cm. For wider bed sizes, two separate slatted bases are provided, ensuring correct support and stability across the entire width of the bed. For these sizes, a central bridge in the bed frame is also required, to which the slatted base can be attached. Assembly requires the bed to have an internal side rail, to which the slats are screwed. This provides a stable construction and also makes the bed easy to assemble and disassemble again. The slatted bases do not come with screws as standard, as the correct screw choice depends on the bed frame's material and thickness. However, we offer standard screws that fit the most common types of bed frames.

The slatted bases are mounted by screwing the slats into the bed's internal side rails and any central bridge for wider bed sizes. The screw holes in the slats are countersunk and have a diameter of Ø 5 mm, ensuring that the screw heads are flush with the surface and do not affect the mattress's placement.

The total width of the slatted base is deliberately made a few millimeters narrower than the mattress size it is intended for. This ensures that the ends of the slats do not stand directly against the bed's internal sides, which could otherwise cause friction, creaking noises, and unnecessary wear during movement in the bed.

As the slats are made from untreated birch plywood without a plastic foil or plastic veneer surface coating, minor splintering in the wood and around the screw holes may occur. This is a natural consequence of the material choice and does not affect function, strength, or durability.

Cocoon Merino Wool

We believe it's important for children to have the best conditions for a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-year duvet that can help create the right environment for the child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the heat around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away from the body, ensuring the child has a temperate and dry night's sleep. This is especially important for infants, as small children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to small children becoming too warm and starting to sweat. Therefore, it's incredibly important that the baby duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool pram duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a shell of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool pram duvet special:

  • Heat-regulating & moisture-transporting
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Unique carding

Which thickness should I choose?

A good rule of thumb is:

  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the warmer half of the year, or only used indoors, then the light version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is also to be used in colder months, and you're generally looking for an all-year duvet, then the medium (standard) version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the cold months, and only used outdoors, then the heavy version is a good choice.

Why choose a wool duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both fantastic insulators. The good insulating ability provides a really nice feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much heat as possible. It's really nice until you've warmed the duvet and mattress to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many people perceive wool as just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. The truth is, wool possesses unmatched properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate heat, and when it gets too warm, the wool absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its own weight in water and moisture without feeling wet and still keeps your body dry and warm. It's also the lanolin content in merino wool that ensures your duvet doesn't smell of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it's only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there will be a big difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

Merino wool is distinguished by having slightly twisted fibers, making it perfect for carding into a fluffy soft 'cloud' of wool fibers. This makes the sleep products wonderfully soft and pliable, undoubtedly benefiting any sleep. To ensure the most breathable and temperature-regulating sleep product possible, we only use merino wool fibers over 8 cm. The longer fibers create a more airy and lighter fill. This makes the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly body-neutral in its temperature.

From the Spanish mountains to your home

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed and originally comes from Spain, but is now widespread worldwide. For our Cocoon merino wool products, only wool from Merino sheep that roam the mountains daily is used. These sheep produce longer wool due to the colder mountain air. Since we only use wool fibers over 8 cm, our wool duvets feel lighter and more airy, while also being more breathable and better at regulating heat.

When selecting our merino wool, it's crucial that the production of the merino wool is done with the animals' welfare in mind. We have a strict policy of only using wool from sheep that are free-range, sheared in a fair and proper manner, and not subjected to mulesing. Therefore, we exclusively use Spanish merino wool, where mulesing is not practiced.

Kapok Mattress Pad 120x200

Kapok Mattress Pad 120x200

Cocoon Organic Kapok

PAD-120200

Create a healthy and safe sleeping environment with kapok

A Cocoon Kapok mattress pad 120X200 is the perfect addition to any mattress if you want a soft and temperature-regulating layer. A kapok mattress pad is a soft and protective layer between the mattress and you. The mattress pad can help you achieve a magical sleep, as the kapok mattress pad helps to transport excess heat away from your body and ensures you will have an undisturbed, temperate, and dry sleep.

HYPOALLERGENIC

Kapok contains a natural bitter substance, which makes the fiber resistant to bacteria and dust mites.

VEGAN & ORGANIC

Kapok is a fiber collected from kapok trees, which grow wild in the tropical rainforests. Our kapok is untreated, with a cover of 100% organic certified cotton.

The mattress pad quickly reaches body temperature, but as soon as the mattress pad is warm, it remains body-neutral due to the fiber's airy structure. The airy structure of the kapok fiber is also the reason why the kapok mattress pad can wick moisture and regulate temperature. A kapok mattress pad can therefore ensure that you do not get too warm and remain dry throughout the night. Due to kapok's airy structure, the fiber does not absorb moisture but instead transports moisture through its fibers. This way, your mattress pad remains dry all night. Another advantage is that this property makes the kapok fiber resistant to, among other things, dust mites, as mites can only live in a humid environment.

Summer is a wonderful season, but for both young and old, the warm summer nights can lead to restless sleep. Do you find that your child's all-year duvet is too warm? Then it will definitely be beneficial for you to replace your child's all-year duvet with a cool baby summer duvet.

Temperature-regulating

Merino wool is naturally breathable and is actually one of the most breathable materials available. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. In warm environments, wool feels up to twice as cool against the skin as synthetic materials. When the body gets warm, the wool dissipates the heat by absorbing moisture from the body and allowing it to evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is particularly beneficial during warm summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.

We use long wool fibers, which are carded to create a light and airy baby summer duvet. We use only 100% natural and untreated merino wool, which is beneficial for both the environment and you, as you get the best and most natural baby summer duvet.

We use 100% natural and untreated merino wool in our baby summer duvet. This means that we have not washed out the natural lanolin content from the wool. The natural lanolin content helps create an antibacterial environment in the merino wool, which dust mites, bacteria, and fungi cannot live in.

Baby Summer Duvet with Down or Merino Wool?

Several studies show that both children and adults sleep better with merino wool, amazing right?! Research shows that newborns sleep more peacefully in merino wool and are less likely to wake up and cry during the night. But adults also benefit greatly from sleeping with merino wool. Merino wool has significantly better temperature-regulating properties than other materials like down, which is often used for summer duvets. When choosing a good summer duvet, it is important to choose a duvet that is more regulating rather than insulating. As previously described, merino wool is one of the most breathable fibers available and is fantastic at adapting to your child's body temperature. When you choose a summer duvet with merino wool instead of a traditional summer duvet with feathers or down, you will find that the summer duvet with merino wool is much better at adapting to your child's core temperature than the down duvet. This is because a down duvet is more insulating rather than regulating. When you get warm under the duvet, you will find that your down duvet becomes damp. A feather or down duvet quickly becomes damp when you sweat, as feathers and down absorb the moisture. You will not experience this with a summer duvet with merino wool. Merino wool can absorb 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling damp. If you ask us, merino wool is an underrated and overlooked filling in duvets - especially summer duvets. Still in doubt? Do not hesitate to contact customer service for further guidance.

Pamper your child with an Organic Kapok junior mattress for your Sebra Kili bed. Our kapok mattress is filled with 100% organic kapok, covered with 100% organic certified cotton. The mattress fits the Sebra Kili bed, which measures 70×110 cm. A kapok mattress for the Sebra Kili bed can be extended with a kapok extension mattress when the bed is pulled out to junior size. Create a complete sleeping environment with an organic and hypoallergenic fiber duvet and fiber pillow.

Hypoallergenic
Kapok contains a natural bitter substance, making the fiber resistant to bacteria and dust mites

Organic
Our kapok duvets and pillows are filled with untreated kapok, with a cover of 100% organic certified cotton.

Temperature-regulating
Due to the fiber's fantastic breathability, you will achieve a wonderfully temperature-regulated night's sleep

Why choose kapok
The kapok fiber is known for its temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties. When you sleep on a kapok mattress, your bed will neither become damp, cold, nor too warm. Another advantage of choosing a kapok mattress is that the kapok fiber is resistant to mites, such as dust mites. They like to live in a damp environment, but since the kapok fiber does not absorb moisture, dust mites cannot live in a kapok fiber. Likewise, our organic cotton cover is woven so tightly that dust mites cannot penetrate it. Furthermore, our kapok is 100% organic without the addition of chemicals, pesticides, etc. You can safely put your little one on our kapok mattress, knowing that your child is lying on a 100% hypoallergenic mattress.

Create a healthy sleeping environment with kapok
Getting a good night's sleep is important for our health. Therefore, we believe it is important to find the sleeping products that suit the child's preferences and needs. When you choose sleeping products filled with kapok fibers, you are guaranteed a pleasantly tempered and dry night's sleep, with both an organic and hypoallergenic product. To give your child the best possible comfort during sleep, you can choose to add a kapok mattress pad to your kapok junior mattress. A kapok mattress is firm. But if you wish to add a little extra softness and comfort, a kapok mattress pad is an excellent choice.

To protect your kapok mattresses, we recommend using our organic jersey sheet. The fitted sheet is woven from 100% organic cotton without the addition of synthetic fibers. If you wish to give your child a 100% organic and chemical-free night's sleep, you can optionally supplement with one of our duvets and pillows. All our series are 100% organic and chemical-free. See our duvet guide to find out which duvet and pillow your child should have.

Unfortunately, this can happen regardless of which mattress is used. Therefore, air the mattress once a week, or as needed.

Kapok mattress for the Sebra bed, Baby & Jr.

Cocoon Organic Kapok

MAT-072114

100% organic and hypoallergenic
The kapok mattress fits the Sebra bed, Baby & Jr. A kapok mattress for the Sebra bed can be extended with a kapok extension mattress when the bed is pulled out to a junior bed. If desired, a softer mattress pad can be placed on top of the mattress to achieve even better ventilation around the body. A mattress pad will also add extra comfort to the mattress, as the mattress pad is slightly softer filled. We recommend purchasing a junior mattress pad in the dimensions 70x160 cm. When using the bed for a baby, simply fold the mattress pad under the mattress at one end. When the bed is extended to junior, the mattress pad fits the length.

Note that the kapok mattress does not fit the Sebra Kili bed, which it can be confused with. If in doubt about which bed you have, you can often distinguish between them by one thing. A Kili bed has plexiglass around the slats on the end panels, which the Sebra bed does not have.

Hypoallergenic

Organic
Our kapok duvets and pillows are filled with untreated kapok, with a cover of 100% organic certified cotton.

Temperature-regulating

Why choose kapok
The kapok fiber is known for its temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties. When you sleep on a kapok mattress, your bed will neither become damp, cold, nor too warm. A kapok mattress is therefore especially suitable for infants. Newborns have difficulty regulating their temperature themselves. It is important for newborns that their temperature remains around 37 degrees, and they must neither become cold nor too warm. Therefore, a kapok baby mattress is the perfect choice for newborns. The fiber quickly reaches body temperature and helps the child regulate heat.

Cocoon Organic Kapok

PAD-140200

Create a healthy and safe sleeping environment with kapok

A Cocoon Organic Kapok mattress pad 140X200 is the perfect addition to any mattress if you want a soft and temperature-regulating layer. A kapok mattress pad is a soft and protective layer between the mattress and you. The mattress pad can help you achieve an enchanting sleep, as the kapok mattress pad helps transport excess heat away from your body, ensuring you have an undisturbed, temperature-controlled, and dry sleep.

HYPOALLERGENIC

Kapok contains a natural bitter substance that makes the fiber resistant to bacteria and dust mites.

VEGAN & ORGANIC

Kapok is a fiber collected from kapok trees, which grow wild in the tropical rainforests. Our kapok is untreated, with a cover of 100% organic certified cotton.

TEMPERATURE REGULATING

Due to the fiber's fantastic breathability and moisture-wicking properties, you will achieve a wonderfully temperature-regulated and dry night's sleep.

ENJOY A GOOD SLEEP WITH A KAPOK MATTRESS PAD

A kapok mattress pad is a great addition to any mattress - whether you have a foam, latex, or kapok mattress. If you tend to get too warm at night, it might be a good idea not only to change your duvet but also to use a kapok mattress pad on top of your existing mattress. Foam and latex mattresses are not very breathable or good at temperature regulation, which can contribute to you getting too warm at night. Therefore, it might be a good idea to add a moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating layer to your bed.

The mattress pad quickly reaches body temperature, but once it becomes warm, it remains body-neutral due to the fiber's airy structure. The airy structure of the kapok fiber is also the reason why the kapok mattress pad can wick moisture and regulate temperature. A kapok mattress pad can therefore ensure that you do not get too warm and remain dry throughout the night.

Due to kapok's airy structure, the fiber does not absorb moisture but instead transports it through its fibers. This way, your mattress pad remains dry all night. Another advantage is that this property makes the kapok fiber resistant to, among other things, dust mites, as mites can only live in a moist environment.

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-080100/L

We believe it's important for children to have the best conditions for achieving a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-season duvet that can help create the right environment for your child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the warmth around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away, ensuring a temperate and dry night's sleep for your child. This is especially important for infants, as young children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to overheating and sweating. Therefore, it's incredibly important that the baby duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool baby duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a shell of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool baby duvet special:

  • Temperature-regulating & moisture-wicking
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Unique carding

Which thickness should I choose?

A good rule of thumb is:

  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the warmer half of the year, or only indoors, the light version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is also to be used in colder months, and you generally seek an all-season duvet, the medium (standard) version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the cold months, and only outdoors, the heavy version is a good choice.

Why choose a wool duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both excellent insulators. The good insulation provides a lovely feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much warmth as possible. It's really nice until the duvet and mattress have warmed up to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many people believe that wool is just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. However, the truth is that wool possesses unmatched properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate warmth, and when it gets too warm, the wool absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its own weight in water and moisture without feeling wet, keeping your body dry and warm. It's also the lanolin content in merino wool that ensures your duvet doesn't smell of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it's only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there will be a significant difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

The longer fibers create a lighter and airier fill, making the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly temperature-neutral.

From the Spanish mountains to your home

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed, originally from Spain, but now widespread worldwide. For our Cocoon merino wool products, we only use wool from Merino sheep that roam the mountains daily. These sheep produce longer wool due to the colder mountain air. Since we only use wool fibers over 8 cm, our wool duvets feel lighter and more airy, while also being more breathable and better at regulating temperature.

Why choose a kapok summer duvet?

Most people can relate to the experience of a feather or down duvet becoming very warm during the night. You get so warm that you need to lift the duvet a bit during the night to cool down. This is because feathers and down are both fantastic at insulating. The good insulation provides a lovely feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much warmth as possible. It's really nice until the duvet and mattress have warmed up to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short. A kapok duvet is fantastic at regulating heat around the body due to the lightness and structure of the kapok fiber, which allows heat and moisture to be transported away from the body. A kapok duvet is therefore especially suitable for those who tend to get too warm at night.

When you sleep with a kapok duvet, you will experience that the duvet adapts to your body temperature. A kapok duvet is therefore one of the best things to sleep with if you have problems with night sweats or simply find a regular down duvet too warm and insulating. A kapok duvet also stands out by being water-repellent. Kapok contains a natural layer of wax around each silky soft fiber. This means that the kapok duvet will not absorb the moisture and sweat that the body releases during the night. Instead, the moisture is transported away from the body through the fiber's many airy cavities. You will therefore find that a kapok duvet remains wonderfully dry throughout the night.

Silk Duvet 70x100

Silk Duvet 70x100

Cocoon Peaceful Silk

SDU-070100

Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet in size 70x100 cm is designed for parents who want the absolute best for their child in terms of comfort, health, and consideration. This unique duvet is made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk a silk harvested without harming the silkworm, representing a unique and more considerate way of thinking about silk. Cocoon Company was the first in the world to develop this humane production method.

The hollow and long structure of the silk fibers gives the duvet excellent temperature-regulating properties, ensuring the baby is neither too hot nor too cold all year round. It is also extremely breathable and wicks moisture away from the body, creating a dry and comfortable sleeping environment.

Silk is naturally resistant to dust mites, and they do not thrive in the environment created by the silk fiber. At the same time, silk is a very strong and long fiber that does not break and dust unlike down and synthetic materials. This makes the duvet an ideal choice for parents who want a cleaner and quieter sleeping environment for their child.

Despite its light and thin appearance, the duvet is a genuine all-year duvet that adapts to the child's body and temperature. It is particularly popular as a summer duvet and for use in the pram on warm days. In winter, it can also be used indoors if the home has a stable and average high temperature. In the pram on cold days, it is recommended that the child is well wrapped and here a wool duvet might be a better choice.

The duvet is particularly suitable for very young children, as it is thin, breathable, and relatively heavy in relation to its volume. This balance gives many babies a calm and secure sleep.

(The duvet cannot be machine washed but must be hand washed or dry cleaned read more under "Washing and Maintenance").

Who is the silk duvet good for?

Cocoon Peaceful Silk baby duvet is suitable for infants and toddlers who need a light and breathable duvet that helps keep the body dry and the temperature stable.

The duvet is especially good for children who are sensitive to dust and dust mites, as the silk fiber is naturally dust-repellent and creates an environment where dust mites do not thrive. Unlike down and synthetic materials, silk does not break and therefore dusts minimally. At the same time, the duvet is more breathable than any other type of filling, providing a constantly dry and comfortable sleep both day and night.

The duvet functions as an all-year duvet, but its light and airy character makes it particularly popular in the summer months and as a pram duvet. It can certainly be used indoors in winter if the room temperature is stable and on the warm side. If used outdoors in the cold, the child should be well wrapped, or a thicker wool duvet might be considered for the cold months.

Why choose our silk duvet?

At Cocoon Company, we don't do things halfway. We have created the world's first humane silk duvet series and we are still the only ones doing it this way. Our duvets are made from 100% organic Mulberry Peace Silk, where every cocoon is allowed to develop into a butterfly just as nature intended.

Unlike conventional silk production, where millions of silkworms are boiled alive, we choose a different path. A path where ethics and consideration go hand in hand with comfort and quality.

Our silk is not chemically treated or mixed with lower quality or synthetic fibers. It is not chlorine bleached, and our duvet covers are sewn from GOTS-certified organic cotton. Every single component is chosen with care.

There are many silk duvets on the market but few dare to tell how their silk is produced. We dare, and we stand by it. For us, it's not just about luxury it's about responsibility. And when it comes to your baby, you need to trust that every choice is made with the heart.

DCO-200200

MAINTENANCE OF YOUR KAPOK MATTRESS

As with all mattresses, it is a good idea to stand your junior mattress on its side occasionally to air it out.

It is important for newborns that their temperature remains around 37 degrees, and they must neither become cold nor too warm. Therefore, a kapok baby mattress is the perfect choice for newborns.

CREATE A HEALTHY SLEEPING ENVIRONMENT WITH KAPOK

Getting a good night's sleep is important for our health. Especially for newborns and babies who sleep 12-15 hours a day! Therefore, we think it is important to find the sleeping products that suit the child's preferences and needs. When you choose sleeping products filled with kapok fibers, you are guaranteed a wonderfully tempered and dry night's sleep, with both an organic and hypoallergenic product. To give your child the best possible comfort during sleep, you can choose to add a kapok mattress pad to your kapok baby mattress. A kapok mattress is firm, as recommended for newborns. But if you want to add a little extra softness and comfort, a kapok mattress pad is an obvious choice. To protect your kapok mattresses, we recommend using our organic jersey sheet. The fitted sheet is woven from 100% organic cotton without the addition of synthetic fibers. If you want to give your child a 100% organic and chemical-free night's sleep, you can also supplement with one of our baby duvets and pillows. All our series are 100% organic and chemical-free. See our duvet guide to find out which duvet and pillow your baby should have.

Kapok mattress pad 140x210

Cocoon Organic Kapok

PAD-140210

Create a healthy and safe sleeping environment with kapok

A Cocoon Organic Kapok mattress pad 140x210 is the perfect addition to any mattress if you desire a soft and temperature-regulating layer. A kapok mattress pad 140x210 is a soft and protective layer between the mattress and you. The mattress pad can help you achieve an enchanting sleep, as the kapok mattress pad helps transport excess heat away from your body, ensuring you have an undisturbed, temperature-controlled, and dry sleep.

HYPOALLERGENIC

Kapok contains a natural bitter substance, making the fiber resistant to bacteria and dust mites.

GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP WITH A KAPOK MATTRESS PAD

A kapok mattress pad is a great addition to any mattress - whether you have a foam, latex, or kapok mattress. If you tend to get too warm at night, it might be a good idea not only to change your duvet but also to use a kapok mattress pad on top of your existing mattress. Foam and latex mattresses are not very breathable or good at temperature regulation, which can contribute to you feeling too warm at night. Therefore, it might be a good idea to add a moisture-wicking and temperature-regulating layer to your bed.

The mattress pad quickly reaches body temperature, but once it becomes warm, it remains body-neutral due to the fiber's airy structure. The airy structure of the kapokfiber is also the reason why the kapok mattress pad can wick moisture and regulate temperature. A kapok mattress pad can therefore ensure that you do not get too warm and stay dry throughout the night.

Due to kapok's airy structure, the fiber does not absorb moisture but instead transports it through its fibers. This way, your mattress pad stays dry all night. Another advantage is that this property makes the kapokfiber resistant to, among other things, dust mites, as mites can only live in a moist environment.

Wool Baby Duvet 80x100 (medium)

Wool Baby Duvet 80x100 (medium)

Cocoon Merino Wool

WDU-080100/M

We believe it is important for children to have the best conditions for achieving a comfortable and uninterrupted night's sleep. A Cocoon wool duvet is a cool, breathable, and temperature-regulating all-year duvet that can help create the right environment for your child. The lightness of merino wool allows the duvet to regulate the heat around the body and transport excess moisture and heat away, ensuring a temperate and dry night's sleep for your child. This is especially important for infants, as young children can struggle to regulate their body temperature. This can lead to overheating and sweating. Therefore, it is crucial that the baby duvet is good enough to help the child regulate heat and moisture.

Our wool baby duvet is filled with 100% untreated merino wool and covered with a casing of certified organic cotton.
What makes our Cocoon merino wool baby duvet special:

  • Heat-regulating & moisture-transporting
  • 100% organic and chemical-free materials
  • Naturally hypoallergenic & dust mite-free
  • Unique carding

Which thickness should I choose?

A good rule of thumb is:

  • If the wool duvet is primarily used in the warmer half of the year, or only indoors, the light version is a good choice.
  • If the wool duvet is also to be used in colder months, and you generally seek an all-year duvet, the medium (standard) version is a good choice.

The good insulation provides a lovely feeling during the cold months when we want to retain as much heat as possible. It's really nice until the duvet and mattress have warmed up to body temperature. After that, the body needs to get rid of the excess heat and moisture. This is where feathers and down often fall short.

Many believe that wool is just a warm fiber, only suitable for winter. The truth is, wool possesses unmatched properties for regulating temperature and moisture, making it suitable for both cold and warm weather. Wool uses your body temperature to generate heat, and when it gets too warm, it absorbs the moisture around the body and cools it down. The secret behind the wool fiber's incredible breathability is the lanolin-rich surface, which allows the fiber to absorb large amounts of moisture. Merino wool can absorb 35% of its own weight in water and moisture without feeling wet, ensuring your body stays dry and warm. It is also the lanolin content in merino wool that prevents your duvet from smelling of sweat and creates an antibacterial environment that dust mites cannot live in. However, it is only in untreated wool that the lanolin is retained, so there is a significant difference between a duvet with untreated wool and a regular wool duvet.

Merino wool is distinguished by its slightly twisted fibers, making it perfect for carding into a fluffy soft 'cloud' of wool fibers. This makes the sleep products wonderfully soft and pliable, undoubtedly benefiting any sleep. To ensure the most breathable and temperature-regulating sleep product possible, we only use merino wool fibers over 8 cm. The longer fibers create a lighter and airier fill, making the duvet feel light, breathable, and incredibly body-neutral in temperature.

From the Spanish mountains to your home

The Merino sheep is the world's most numerous sheep breed, originally from Spain, but now widespread across the globe. For our Cocoon merino wool products, we only use wool from Merino sheep that roam the mountains daily. These sheep produce longer wool due to the colder mountain air. Since we only use wool fibers over 8 cm, our wool duvets feel lighter and more airy, while also being more breathable and better at regulating heat.

When selecting our merino wool, it is crucial that the production of the merino wool is conducted with animal welfare in mind. We have a strict policy of only using wool from sheep that are free-range, sheared in a fair and proper manner, and not subjected to mulesing. Therefore, we exclusively use Spanish merino wool, where mulesing is not practiced.
